Good morning everyone

She is right Techie, that’s exactly how I feel and as Mary pointed out, there are so many good men out there, you included.

Hope Brit and JC are feeling a bit brighter? When are you starting your counselling JC? Think Molly said her op was next week, lots going on.

I am off for a night away for Mr R’s birthday. It’s the place the Tv show The Restaurant was filmed in. Ate there years ago and the food was very good. Have not been anywhere since November so looking forward to it.

Treat of the week....................we're going to Tesco.
I have ordered and received my mother of the bride outfit...............fits like a glove. It was less than £70 so I can spend a fortune on my shoes.:happy2:

I just had a look to see if the hat shop where I got my hat for the S&H's wedding. Unfortunately they've gone bust...................the virus got their business.

Of course it's not all men and thankfully most men are respectful, kind and supportive of women and vise versa. But there's still an attitude among a few, maybe they grew up in abusive homes and porn definitely does not help.

That's it Mers - but I fear the generations behind us are growing up differently.
But I often think , until something like this happens, we live in our own little bubbles. The men we know are respectful but we don't see how the other half live.
When I talk to my mother's companion ( and she can certainly talk ) from inner city flats - she's 50 - her life is an eye opener.
She's in court every second day . Just stumbles from crisis to crisis.
She tells me the younger girls get an man - he earns loads of money - buys them nice things - then he calls the shots.

A whole different world - that makes me grateful when I've had an earful & I get home to my world.

nah --- not to worry anyway -- all drivel - I don't think people are any different really -- not underneath... manners aren't what they were -- like grammar and spelling -- manners aren't taught either -- but.... there were always lowlife's and always nobs.... and good people and bad people -- we just know more about what's going on cos of social media -- that's my opinion anyway.

Yeah I think you have a point there Molls.
But it's through social media that kids can easily access porn & violent videos these days that causes young lads to think women are there to be used. Because that is how they are portrayed.
It was videos that caused 14 year old girl to be tortured & killed out this way a few years ago by 2 other 14 year olds.

I can remember the height of excitement my brothers got up to was looking up 's-e-x' in the dictionary :haha:

Yea I do wonder if we were coming out of the dark ages in terms of equality, then the Internet happened.
That said, I'm a bit concerned about all the men bashing going on all week.. my young fella and his friends would think nothing about taking a strange drunk girl home for her safety - Then again, it's because they know how some lads think, that they do that in the first place.

You could be describing the S&H and his mates. If they can't take them to the door they take a photo of the taxi number they're in and make them text when they're home. Well done to your boys.

Today is a very big day in Irish history...it's the day we gained independence from Britain 100 years ago...unfortunately for some bizarre reason (and OMG it has come back and bitten them on the bum many many times since) the Brits decided they must keep 6 counties for themselves...how they must rue that decision!!

I get my pension in August Jacks and NO we are not old...we're beginning the rest of our lives...no more being accountable to bosses or companies or ANYBODY! And they give us money to enjoy our freedom....win/win!!!!!
