That's a grand looking pooch JC! Can't begin to think of getting another dog quite yet. We think we might wait at least a year, then decide if we want another one.

I was the worst of the worst drunks. Didn't matter what day it was, what time of day it was, who I was with, where I was at. Only thing that mattered was that I had a can of beer in my hand...
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

abcowboy................bless your heart. Believe me when I say I know what you're going through. They're family.
I still mourn our Bess. My cousin (as a gift) had a portrait painted and framed of Bess for me.
We got our Mikey from Paw Prints to Freedom. I'm thinking about volunteering for them. Although he came from Romania his English is coming along nicely.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Februrary Army 2022

I was the kind of drinker who would start the day strong, but then the witching hour would hit in the late afternoon, and I would find myself stopping off at a store to buy a 6-pack of good beer, and start drinking them. Sometimes that would be enough, but sometimes I would have to supplement with the beer already in the fridge, and hope nobody would notice that some beers were missing. Or I would supplement by opening a bottle of wine, and hope the missing bottle wouldn’t be noticed until I could replace it. And of course I had to keep close tabs on when the garbage & recycling was being picked up, so I could get rid of all the accumulated cans & bottles.
Going out was the perfect opportunity to drink -as long as I could get enough!

Oh that last bit became my problem...even back years and years before a problem reared its head..Joe and I drank differently...he would sit over his first pint for what seemed like hours...whereas my glass of wine could be gone in two gulps...so I would be sitting WILLING that poxy pint down his throat...and then after a few I was happy to slow down whereas he speeded up....it just drove me mad in latter days when I truly just wanted to sit at home glugging my bottle at my own pace!!
Howdy Slo btw!

Mikey's lovely Jacks...he looks so grown up beside Max....Max is still a big lolloping pup!

The whole business cost a fair bit so we're training him in house removal to pay us back.

Slo.........although I do like the idea of a crown. He certainly rules the roost here. BTW lovely to see you here. Don't be a stranger.

Molls, I hated going out because everyone was so slow. I'd start when I was putting my make-up on at home and was half-cut before we got anywhere. And I used to get a sneaky vodka (down in one gulp) when it was my turn to get the drinks in at the bar.

I thought Mikey was balancing a hair on his head too! He is a fine looking doggy :heartbeat:

Hope your catching up on your Zzz's Rustop. Nothing worse than missing your sleep. How long have your your visitor for? I'll send my ladies over to mind him :haha:

I was the same Slo, replacing endless bottles of wine. Drank one himself was keeping, nearly shit myself when I saw the label said 1988. No replacing that one. I said I'd put it onto a dinner. Wasn't even that nice, but he was not happy.
Vodka and gin were easier to replace, drink in secret and get buzzed on. Thats when I knew the booze was in control.

Builders back tomorrow and I have to isolate in my room. Will drive down to my friend for a cuppa. We both have covid, which is very convenient (a gift from our daughters as they all hang out).

Morning all

Today is my weekend so I'm having a lie in.
Rosie & MrS have their routine & they have to be out by 9am - FFS

So as I am tired after working weekend I'm left behind. Loving the peace & quiet.

I shall arise soon from my languishing & face the day ........

Monday Musings :
I dropped something behind the bed yesterday and I swear there is 3 feet of dust back there ........ WTF causes dust ?
Do I HAVE TO clean it ?:crybaby:
How come men don't see dust ?

It's all a mystery ...

Morning,
Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate. We don't.

Managed to get to half time in the Super Bowl. I'm so tired I feel groggy.

satz123..............men don't see a lot of things even if its under their noses.

And using our beloved google.............where does dust come from?

'It is often dirt, skin cells, or fabric fibers, but could be more or less anything that could dry and flake off. Books, carpet, rugs, upholstered furniture, fireplaces, and pets all contribute to the dust load. Dirt, pollen, smoke, exhaust, sand, and many other things may bring in dust from outside.7 Sept 2017'

I did pull out my bedside drawer and all I found apart from dust was KitKat wrappers.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Afternoon everyone and Happy St Valentine’s Day if you celebrate it.

My question JC is where does it come from in rooms that are not used? Can understand the main areas especially if you have pets but bugs me when I see it in the unused rooms.

Delighted your builders have come back Mary. Not sure how long we will have this little thing. She needs to come out of herself before she’s rehomed. She no bother as she just sits in her bed in the cage. Does not move. Started to use puppy pad at night and she’s so tiny, not much of a mess to clean up.

Work today, typing this on my phone. Have a good week everyone.
