Re: Februrary Army 2022
Well thats a shocker satz123. They are wasting no time.
Ran 5k today, slowly. Will ease back into it, but delighted to do 5 without collapsing.
13k Hike will be no bother to you Rustop. You are fitter than you think with all the walking.
Really like the sound of your new therapist JackieClaire.. you just need lots of sleep now. And you Molly, tell them all to feckoff home.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Morning and waves to the world,
:hug: to those who need one. Seems like one of us get problems and along comes another one to smack you in the face.
Aaah, Satz, everything crossed for your brother.
IamMary..............I got on very well with this new bloke. At one point we were talking about loosing Bess and he started talking about his cat that died and he teared up.
It was lovely having Jenny here even though it was fleeting. We had a long chat about the wedding and she's having five bridesmaids.........:egad:..........four of which are getting ready in our house. They're wearing aubergine long dresses. With only one bathroom its going to be a challenge. I came up with once a bridesmaid is ready I'm sending her next door to sit on his settee.
We've been friends for well over 30 years (he's coming to the wedding) so won't mind at all. They moved in the day I brought the S&H home from the hospital when he was born. He won't complain as her pals are very bonnie lasses.
Right, I'm going to do my homework. I've got to walk to the bus stop and come back the long way round. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Afternoon everyone
Hope your homework went well JC. Lovely to have something to look forward to.
Well done on getting out on the run Mary. Hope the other patients in the army are doing well, Molly and Techie?
Starting to think of holidays. Booking the walking weekend has motivated me. Anyone been to Madeira? Ticking a lot of boxes. Can hike, whale watch etc and not too hot. Looks lovely too.

Mind you...it was way more than 10 years ago cos there was a little shanty pub on the way home to the hotel and they used to give us a bottle of wine for 2 quid....gorgeous stuff...so yeah I was still drinking!!! Ah it was lovely tho except for the old fogies :thumbsup:Last edited by mollyka; February 22, 2022, 11:17 AM.Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Been to Jersey though - yonks ago - the weather & grub was lovely but very 'retired English' vibe .... I remember if you went to a show - when it was over the only ones left were the Irish looking around wondering what's wrong - why is the bar closed ? where's everyone going ???? :egad:
We were only getting settled :haha:

Never been to Maderia either, looks fabulous Rustop. When are you thinking of going?
We booked Greece in July. Will melt, but only had a small window, or loose one of the kids... flights booked but nothing planned outside of that.
How did the trip to the bus stop go JackieClaire? Will you do it a few times?
Have to do a talk in work for international women's day (taking up a sport in ones 40s). Hate doing it and did it last year, so it's ridiculous, they are really scraping the end of the barrel now. Was thinking though how I would love to talk about overcoming booze! I would never have the nerve to do it, given that I havnt discussed with family or buddies.. but i would certainly shock!
Maybe I could weave it in, without getting personal. There has to be so many women who fell into terrible habits since covid. Or maybe covid accelerated them. Can't imagine how I'd have coped.. badly anyway.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Morning and waves to the undies
Got to the bus stop and went a bit further and I didn't die. I'm getting my nails done today once she's gone I'll take Mikey in the opposite way down to the little stream.
IamMary..................perhaps bring the stopping drinking and entwine around your running.
Jersey is an oddity and it isfull of old people.................rich old people as Jersey is a tax haven so is Guernsey. I loved it...........mind you I was only 20 so anyone over 30 had one foot in the grave in my mind. The drinks weren't half cheap though. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Think Mr G is right, bet as you say after lockdown it would resonate with lots of them. People have been through hell over the last two years and can only imagine how hard it would be dealing with it and drinking at the same time.
Thinking about going away end of July/beginning of August. Was thinking about Lake Garda as loved some of the villages when we stayed there two years ago on our way to the Dolomites but it was too hot at that time of year. Good to be back planning again.
Walk done but it is wild and windy here today. Going to play catch up in the house.
