Re: Februrary Army 2022
Not sure we can compare our experiences of Covid - with a war :egad: Bombs dropping & having to flee with a suitcase to a different country along with a few million others ?
Anyhoo if I'm honest I think I would be tempted if there was a threat my home might be blown to bits. Yes very tempted to buy a pack of cigarettes & a bottle of wine to dull the pain & anxiety.
I might even ring my mother's 'salt of the earth' carer to score a few Xanax

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Yes, all of those questions are roaming through my head over the past few days. Finally, standing in my new working kitchen, that I expect to be in for the next 30 years.. imagine it gone in an instant.. Don't know if Id drink. If I was about to get blown up, probably. If I was in survival mode for me and my family, no way, if fight to the end.
You are really doing well Jackieclaie, there's no stopping you!
I don't mind zoom (teams) in work, but only cos its 1 person talking at a time. The covid social nights were ridiculous.
Rustop, that's so cleansing, declutching your life. I have to sneak things out the door (example; kids toys are being kept for potential grandkids)AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

I hope not to hear of injured (or worse) workmen on the 9 o'clock news.
Enjoy the new kitchen for a long long time - you worked hard to get it :welldone:

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Morning,
satz123.........enjoy (don't hit me).
IamMary.............congratulations on your new kitchen.............. Its very stressful.
Got to flee around the shops then off to my therapist. Bit of hypnosis this aftie although I've had no bother after just one week I've got by myself. Still a mass to do like getting a bus or the metro.
Doubt there's enough alcohol on the planet that would get me through what's happening in the Ukraine. What astounded me was that there's masses of people in Russia holding marches against Putin's actions. I can't get my head around it. SIL says all the refuge places are ready for those that can get out (she's in the know). I've told her we could probably take a couple so stick us on the list.It could be worse, I could be filing.

So very true Molly. The interviews this morning on Brendan O’Conner were heartbreaking. Pure evil as you said.
Shopping sounds wonderful. I can only dream of being at that stage. Our solicitor again received paperwork not properly signed this week. Can see she is getting frustrated but I did warn her. In the meantime I have decided to crochet a bedspread, will take about a year so hopefully we will be sorted by the time it is finished.
Very wild here today. Day for the fire and rugby.

Re: Februrary Army 2022
God it's frustrating buying a house..our problem with this one was we tried to delay as much as possible cos I don't retire till June at the earliest..in fact officially August..but of course it all sailed through...sods law really...must admit I'm loving it...ideally I'd love to be rich enough to hang onto both houses but errrr no...norra chance...oh how I'd love to be able to crochet!! Now that I've 2 legs under me again must go to the wool shop and start knitting for joey' s new baba...won't be long now!!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Ha, you two should just swap houses Rustop will be lucky to have the keys by June at this rate.
An ambitious project that bedspread, it sounds fabulous!
Hope the hypnosis went well JC and you are not barking every time Mr JC says the trigger word :haha:
We spent the afternoon painting. Me, the bathroom cabinets (takes ages, pinterest lies) and he, the kitchen.
We just finished Inventing Anna, Netflix. V good.
Going for a sleepover with youngest now (no snooring!).

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Morning....we're bedroom hopping...as we haven't got proper beds down yet we are on airbeds which are really comfy but very cold..so one of the bedrooms has carpet and we tried that last night...lovely and warm but also has internet! Think might choose this as our own room...the decor is atrocious so will redo top to bottom...the other rooms are okay for the moment so one room is easy...I'll get you down Mary with your paintbrushes:thumbsup:
Dull old morning here in Mayo...going to Mulranny beach today for a bit of an explore!
Bet you're loving having your house back Mary

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Howdy all.
mollyka....................you've got a plain canvas to play with.
Can't remember which of my sprogs borrowed all our camping stuff.......back in the day we used to do Leeds Festival. We weren't going to pay the prices of the vendors there so took our own stuff. Its all been to Ireland as well. Mr. JC and the next door neighbour went to a four day tribute to Rory Gallagher over your way. We don't want it back.
IamMary.........didn't get hypnotized as I've done so well this last week he felt it wasn't needed. The fact after one session whatever we talked about the first time gave my enough confidence to actually leave the house on my own we might do it at the last one. I've only got 4 sessions but he's good. Reminds me very much of a drinking counselor I used to have. Might sound daft but he believes in me.
And there's a new series of Peaky Blinders tonight.:applouse:It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Februrary Army 2022
Afternoon everyone
Did my 13km hike and was on tracks and trails I had never been on. Felt good to be out there again. You are doing fantastic JC, you were lucky to get such a good counsellor.
I am sure that you are delighted to have your kitchen back Mary. Ha ha Molly I just bought an air bed. You will have it beautiful in no time. Last time we were in Mulranny the pier had been destroyed by a storm.
