Didn't get to Mulranny after all...headed up to Westport had a lovely outdoor brunch there then found a beautiful strand I hadn't been to before ...you probably know it ...Bertra strand? We had a gorgeous walk and the scenery is amazing...got home a few hours ago fairly knackered!!!
You are doing great Jackie...I could easily imagine myself not wanting to face the world and it's not nice...fair dues to you...right..best send this while I have a bar of internet!

All cosmetic thankfully Mary...couldn't bear the thought of builders or plumbers etc ever ever again! Thought the water pressure was a bit low when we bought the house but discovered a massive pump last night so there's a proper powerful rainfall shower in one room and a Jacuzzi bath in another...Joe is chuffed with himself!!
Dunno what we're doing today so still in the bed till we get a plan!

Morning all...

Sorry to use the 'C' word again.
But the Nursing Home is riddled with COVID.
They opened the doors to visitors as instructed & WHAM ! it's moved it's way up & down all the residents.
Irish folks - the owner had a piece in the Indo newspaper yesterday !

Dunno what the answer is - residents NEED to see loved ones AND without bloody masks in my opinion.

It's a mild dose - so let it take its course and add to their immunity - locking them in rooms is not the answer. Some of them in their 90's FFS !!

There have been people who died of many things because of lockdown some surgeons weren't allowed to operate (my cousin's husband is a surgeon) has lost patients as he wasn't allowed his operating theatres. He's working like a madman six days a week to try and catch up. To be honest I always thought he was miserable git so it was rather nice to find what a caring bloke he really is.


We have to learn to live with this new varient like we do with flu. That changes every year and we don't lockdown if someone sneezes next to us in Tesco

Totally agree - more people are now dying due to lack of treatment as EVERYTHING targeted to COVID.
Time to live with it now.

You are really starting to live your best life Molly, envious. Yea been on that beach. Beautiful part of the country.

True, we will all just have to live with this. We still have to wear our masks at work. Don’t mind really, feel a little more protected. Will take time to go back to our old normal.

Well done on the cupboard doors Mary, need to motivate myself to do some of that kind of stuff.

Fair enough in the early days no-one knew WTF we were dealing with and were like headless chickens. We've were bombarded by scary news casts every 10 minutes and I took it to heart unfortunately I took it the point where I couldn't get out of the house on my own.


I'd taken to heart and swallowed everything said by the government/experts/people who think they're experts and it had wormed into my brain and got stuck
My first session with my lovely counsellor.. He asked how did get out and get here...........simple enough question so I said Mr. JC dropped me off. A true agoraphobic wouldn't get over the door step .............pandemic or no pandemic.............as I'd been to the shops with the long suffering Mr. JC/out for a coffee with my SIL/up to see the in-laws,quizzes and even a nice trip in an ambulance but always with someone else.

Popped into a shop today without a mask, mind you, nearly everyone else had one on. I felt like a rebel. But having just had covid, I shouldn't be a risk to people around me, so no point wearing one.
Maybe I'll get a t shirt with my covid dates and likely variant..

Yea we still have to wear masks in work and adhere to the 1m rule. Hardly go in these days, so it doesn't affect me.

Not much you can do [MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION] except weather this storm. Hopefully it will have rippled through in a few weeks and you can move on from this chapter.
Sister and husband have it and my parents are likely 3 days off. My niece is coming up for a night before she flys out to New York so will stay here instead. Nothing like a deadline to sort of my house.. tomorrow I'll achieve in 2 hours what would normally take 2 weeks :haha:

Same here Mers - the Germans are coming for visit end of March. Everything is now "ah sure I'll wait " - so 2 weeks of doing feck all then a mad flurry of activity of clean towels & clean beds :haha:

In the meantime we'll slum it as normal !
