Re: March Army 2022
Morning all!
Rant Alert
Cheltenham Racing Week
Mr S is like a dog with 2 tails.
He's also just short of wearing black armband - because hey ho! he couldn't afford to spend thousands to fly to UK & pay exorbitant prices for everything. He's been going for 17 years - half funded by me but no more ........
I have little sympathy I'm afraid - and suggested a part-time job to fund next year.
He is 66 - fit & healthy and hasn't done anything for 12 years.
It's what I have to do to afford small luxuries.
I'm tired being the one working while he gets to : go to pub, go racing, go golfing.
It's a joke.
Thank you for listening ......

Morning
brit...............I looked up Moel Famau.............that's a walk and a half. A drag round the big field with Mikey leaves me face down on the settee.
Hope you know we're all with you tomorrow not in person but in spirit.
DriftyAlison0..............nice one.
I'm off into town to buy stuff that we don't need.It could be worse, I could be filing.

JC you need to pat yourself on the back - instead of C 2 5K you've gone C 2 DRBF (Couch to Drag Round Big Field) in a short time remember - you are doing great

I think I'd be gasping if it was anyway steep.
30 years of smoking took its toll in the end I think.
I may ask for a chest x-ray referral next time I'm at the doctor.

Don't get me wrong he pays his share of bills like private healthcare etc but my point was spending € K on just himself is not fair. He'd be broke for the rest of the year & I'd end up stumping up the necessary.
Our house is over 40 years old & could do with some bits being done - but we'll never afford it at that rate.
I think I'll move to a 2/3 bed new build - I'd be happy then. Red brick - open plan with no maintenance. And a big garden for him to flute around.
But I want it just down the road :haha:

We used to go on a good few holidays -- but we were both working -- or even when Joe retired we had some money from selling the shop -- but Covid sort of broke that rhythm and I'm happy enough with that -- one 'away' holiday or in this year one for Joe on his bike and one for me with Jilly (if she can afford it -- if not I'll happily go with a suitcase of books and a swimsuit all on my own!) -- and if and when we can afford it some little mini staycations (the kids usually give us those anyway for birthdays etc... Joe's BIG birthday this year so..... mmmm!!!!)
So yeah -- just cutting back - but truly happily so... can you IMAGINE finding the loot for the grog... jaysus we'll be hard pushed finding it for petrol this year!!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: March Army 2022
Evening everyone
That looks like my kind of a walk Brit, enjoy. Don’t blame you for being cheesed off Satz. We are both still working and even if himself goes on his fishing trips it does not take away from other trips or the house. Covid has certainly put a stop to a lot of our travel but have a few things planned. Can see the advantage of downsizing, this house and garden is a lot of work. Will see how it works out with the cottage and how things are when he retires before making any decisions.
Work over for the week, nothing planned for Paddy’s day, will see how it goes.
