Afternoon..just home from Mayo...had a fabulous weekend...hard work but got heaps done.

Think if you still fear the dentist Jackie maybe you should try a different dentist? They really are properly trained nowadays to deal with nervous patients...and believe you me...I was one!!

Would you believe we moved to this practice a while back and they're brilliant. Kindness beyond the call of duty. They know about my phobia ( posh name Dentophobia (odontophobia) so they treat me very gently and talk me through anything they're doing. I always come out feeling daft at getting myself into such a stew.

No I've not wet the bed just we have to leave sharp to get a parking space near the dentists. I should be back by 10:30am at the latest.

Morning Army --- finally re-united with my laptop and my wifi -- next time I go hopefully they'll be all together in one place... good luck at the dentist Jacks... I'm still in the middle of root canal stuff and it's pretty awkward trying to get time off to get to the dentist -- will be very glad when this tooth is finished -- .

On my own in the house -- Joe stayed down there painting and generally being very important -- I came back yesterday to get through these last few weeks -- will be glad to have work out of the way -- making some headway with the garden but it's a massive project.. Joe says he might get started on a pond -- thought he was ignoring me about that!!!

Right -- best go shower and get ready for work... hope I said happy birthday to Benjy yesterday -- certainly intended to but intentions and the road to hell ---- ;-)

Morning all.
Was working the weekend & extremely tired yesterday.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes & the lully cake Jacks :hug:

Ys is doing very well and has been sober since he came home.
He's attending meeting & aftercare but is anxious to get Secondary treatment somewhere else.
The dream of a new life in Waterford among his sober friends was taken away by picking up that first drink.

But he is hoping if he completes Secondary care somewhere & work on why he relapsed he can look again at moving there independently.

He's identified a place in Meath, has arranged an assessment for today & asked if I'll drive him there .
So that's our big outing today inkele:

Afternoon everyone

Best birthday present you could get Satz. Enjoy the trip. He has suffered the consequences of picking up that first drink this time and hopefully it will have the desired impact.

Hope you survived the dentist JC. Your garden sounds lovely Molly, may you enjoy many happy years in it.

Sun is shining but need to go back to work for the afternoon.

OH I hope all that will work out for him -- it sounds like maybe he is beginning to realise what he is throwing away... hope Meath worked out today..

Evening all else -- I'm in bed believe it or not -- came home so tired I literally ate some dinner and crawled up the stairs... guessing I'll be asleep soon!! Hope everyone doing good xx

After my carry on about dentists I doubt I could find a nicer one. I just nodded off on the settee about 4pm and just woken up. I'll be wide awake at 3am and its my craft thingy at the church tomorrow. Wish Mr JC had woken me up a bit sooner. The dentist was a darling seeing her again in a few weeks to get everything fixed.

Ah Jacks - so glad dentist turned out to be nice. You'll be skipping back to her next time.

I too found a dote of a dentist a few years back. So kind & gentle but that doesn't mean I ran back to him. Only went back last week after 3 years :egad:
Nothing major - but a tooth that is really just all filling needs to be crowned at a mere €900 :egad: FFS !!
But I can't afford to lose any more teeth - my face will cave in

Sorry its been a nutty week and just couldn't get on here. Eveyone's gone home FINALLY and I'm still exhausted!

Happy belated birthday [MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION], a sober son is the best pressie of all. Well done YS.. he knows the drill.

We had a smashing week with all the cousins. Folks happy out. Great hike to Dimond hill, I'm sure you've done that one [MENTION=15758]rustop59[/MENTION]. Lots of dinners and pier jumping and just catching up. The house was fabulous, big enough for peace and quite and lovely nooks and crannys.

Back to looming exams and a confirmation. Roll on July...

Morning and welcome home Mers,
Defo agree with the dentists and hairdressers. My hairdresser disappeared and went and had a baby. How dare she.

With Jenny being a teacher now she let me in on the secret of the teacher's cupboard...............it does contain extra paper etc but sometimes she goes in there and bangs her head off the wall and quietly uses language that would make a sailor blush before appearing again calm and serene in front of her pupils.

Right better get dressed................its craft morning at the church. Anyone's welcome even heathens like me.

Welcome back Mary. I have been up Diamond hill many times, the views are absolutely amazing, beautiful part of the country. Don’t envy you the exams, confirmations etc, a lot of stress but made less so by not drinking. We should all have a teacher’s cupboard, even with grown up sprogs. The trees and the woods are my outlet. You are becoming a social butterfly JC, lovely to see.

How did the trip to Meath go Satz? Hope that it all works out well for him. Did you have a good nights sleep Molly? I go down to watch a bit of Netflix as himself watches all the current affairs programs and I cant keep my eyes open for more than 15/20 minutes. Had a great sleep last night.

Good morning everyone

Beautiful morning here, cuckoo was in full flow on walk. I was in cleaning mode yesterday too. Have been away so much the dust bunnies were taking over. Something so satisfying seeing the clothes line full of washing flapping in the sun and not having to worry about rushing out to take them in before the rain.

Today is grocery shopping and find nothing satisfying about that, just a chore to get done with. Have a book that I got on BorrowBox, would much prefer to put my feet up with that but needs must.

It would seem YS is dedicated to protecting his sobriety this time.
AA Meetings, Aftercare Zoom calls, Psychotherapist today, Sponsor calls, cycling, gym.
Let's see.
Meath place [MENTION=15758]rustop59[/MENTION] was ok. But the one exercise he can do is cycling and they will not allow the fecking bike.
So the jury is out on that.

Me : I'm dedicated to looking for shoes for a wedding. Keeps me amused for hours :haha:

Mother : Holding her own. Decided not to go anywhere yet

MrS : Dedicated to enjoying himself racing

The Germans : We are heading to Munich mid-May :yay:
