Your well covered after 8 days brit, enjoy the celebrations

I'll wave as I pass by you rustop59. We're heading to Killary next week.

Beautiful day here. Morning off to get my hair done. Just dropped off middle and cousin to Little Mix, great to be back to normal.

Re: April Army 2020

Morning all !

Well YS has made a decision. He had made great friends with lads like himself in the recovering community in Waterford.
They have rallied 'round including his sponsor & he will move back to the relative safety down there.

He has an offer of sharing a cottage with one of the lads - sober 4 years - & he will go back to the AA group he was in.

There is a secondary care group in a Cork Centre that may be an option to complete the programme when a place comes up.

Can't ask for more than that at this stage. It may be a ploy to just be free to do what he wants - but at this stage I'm beyond caring. If he chooses that road now - he knows the outcome and the consequences are his to deal with.
We cannot lock him up here forever & I won't live like that.
So off with him.

Good morning everyone

Just packing up trying to get on the road before too long. At least he has made a decision Satz and will be part of a sober community. You and Mr S have done all you can. He can thank you both for giving him his life back. If he was left on a park bench he would probably be gone within the year. As parents we will always worry. Read something that a mother is only as happy as her unhappiest child. Feet up now and look after you for a while.

Waves to everyone else. Not sure about the Wi-Fi in this cottage. If I don’t get to check in Happy Easter and will be back on Monday.

Morning,
satz123........... You must have been sick to your back teeth. Although we look at our children and remember them in nappies we forget they grow up but he sounds like a man with a plan. He's surrounding himself with sobriety.

Crikey did I miss Our Whizzy's birthday..........:balloons: Hope you had a lovely day.

Heard from the new bathroom people................they want to start mid/late August. The wedding of the year is the 25th. Mr JC had to scrape me of the ceiling I was so angry..............we must have told the man that can a dozen time that we wanted it over and done with by the beginning of August.
I've left it in Mr JC's lap. He uses long words where as I would loose the plot and most of my words would begin with an F.
I suppose I could give each of the bridesmaids a packet of wet-wipes and hose them down in the back garden.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

JackieClaire - tell them to stick their bathroom. FFS - that's not on. Jesus the Taj Mahal was built quicker than that !! Get someone else that's not so precious with their time ....

HAving said that ....
Bridesmaids will not care about the bathroom. These young 'uns aren't worried about such trivia
I presume they can shower before they get to you ?
Or are they staying over :egad:

Great news about YS. This might have scared the bejaysus out of him. Sounds like hes going back to a safe place with people he kmows and people who know him and know the drill. He has good mates.
JackieClaire, can you just get another builder? You dont want them squeezing it in or sub contracting it? My builder couldnt get his usual floor guy and used someone he didnt know. Ended up redoing a good bit.
Got our roof cleaned today, it was covered in moss!

Middle child has a sore throat and hight temp. Couldn’t possibly be covid again, could it? Im afraid to test.

Safe travells rustop and enjoy having no agenda..

Probably just a normal thing - even if it's not - no-one seems to care any more.

Morning (just)...........I haven't got covid.........I have a fecking stinker of a cold. I suppose covid is beginning to loose its grip so all the other germs/viruses are coming out to play.

We found a man that can that can replace the taps in the bathroom.....cash in hand.....that'll do for now.

I could put them in the back garden and hose them down or give them them a packet of wet ones.

Weddings have grown legs -- and arms -- and fecking tentacles -- a man I used to work with - his daughter was getting married -- they had lived together for years and years -- but all of a sudden she wanted the whole virgin bride experience at the cost of a man (her father) who in honesty had fuck all money --- she wanted to 'leave' from her parents house to go to the church despite the fact that she and the husband to be had a perfectly good house (better than her parents) -- he had to have the whole house re-decorated and he truly was under a lot of financial pressure -- it enraged me tbh -- and I'm certainly not giving out about Jenny or my own daughter when and if she's in the same situation -- but the whole wedding business (cos it IS a business) is so far removed from what a wedding should be imo.... aaaarrrggghhh -- rant over -- and please do tell me to mind my own business... (oh and I didn't even mention the other wedding the woman I worked with who were down 50k renting castles and the such) --
My mum gave us a bit of bob towards buying our house and we had 13 people at our wedding and never regretted choosing my house over the 'big day'....

bought a mattress topper and all new bed linen -- and the paint -- blue and grey the decor -- very excited...

I do agree Molls - totally over the top these days.
I remember my parents driving us around ( we didn't have a car) looking at hotels for our wedding 45 years ago and being aghast at the prices & the fuss ( a sherry reception).
So it's generational thing I think.
My parents paid for some of it - but only because - and they told me - we were buying our own house .... that was a big deal to them.

It was very tame affair compared to today's shenanigans.
We had to do that whole 'going away' shit that was the thing then. They all stayed & we left at 8pm & went into Dublin for a few hours & came back when they were all gone.
Such nonsense :haha:
