Oh well done Joe ! And fit as a fiddle
Happy Birthday !!!

Jesus Molls mad to think we're hanging around with 70 year olds - one of my siblings & a few outlaws hit 70 this year.
& not long till we're there ourselves :egad:
I feel EXACTLY as I did at 50 - except I've survived the menopause sans drugs, without killing anyone or being killed, & quit drinking & smoking :yay:

Sorry Mers : Read this back & had a word with meself - said "shut up & mind yer own business". At least I get in & say it before you do :haha:
Please don't mind your own, that's why a posted!! It's a tricky one as I'm not saying it to anyone out here, except 1 mate, so I really do appreciate that Satz.
He is out sick right now, don't know how long more he can pull that one for. And he is v stressed when he's there, happy as Larry at home (working through my very long list).
He's tried everything with the company and they won't budge. They would of course do much better with a younger model, or 2.
Thanks for all that feedback, food for though.
And re YS, not depressing at all and if you can't talk to us about this, why are we here!!

Poor you JackieClaire, is it v uncomfortable??

How was the barbie rustop59? Beautiful night for it!!

Happy Birthday to Joe!! Would you believe my dad is 80 today! Watch out for the balloons floating around in North County Dublin!

In one way I feel exactly the same as I did when I was 40 -- except -- I definitely have more common sense now... I look and listen to my 30-40 year old sprogs - and they may have got lots of points in their leaving certs - but there are so many gaps in their common sense it appals me sometimes. Or maybe that's just having MrGoogle -- you don't have to think things out you just google it?!

What age is he Mary? When Joe sold the business he was an extremely young 63 year old -- fitter than fit and WAY too young for him to 'retire'..... he couldn't stay on in the shop cos his business partner had retired and he just couldn't do all the hours -- but omg I found it very hard having him at home... I really did - and he's deffo not as good at filling his time as I am... dunno what I'm saying really -- but MrM prolly in his 50's yeah? christ make sure he gets another job - even if it's very lowly -- wonderful thing about 'lowly' jobs is that you don't have to worry about them -- go in - fill the hours - get paid -- win-win -- just my opinion of course

I've got a toy boy................he's 4 years younger than me.
IamMary............its just a nuisance and flairs up now and again.
mollyka..............Happy Birthday to Joe. I remember when he was left to run the place on his own............he must have been exhausted and lonely for you. So happy you've got your cottage to spend as much time as you want on doing what you want and when you want to.

Anyway must put my glad rags on...............its my sister in laws 60th today and she's having a bit of a do.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Afternoon all

Happy birthday to Joe and JC’s SIL. BBQ was grand, was cool enough but we have one of those gas heaters and it was lovely sitting out. Plenty of food and a good natter and laughs. Will be left overs today.

One of my neighbours was going on holiday today and she just sent picture from airport. Absolute madness! DAA have apologised but really not good enough. Hours of queues, people missing flights etc. They were lucky that they booked assistance for her 80+ year old MIL and they let all of them go with her so they made their flight.

There is really no excuse for that @rustop59
The excuse : They weren't expecting it. They hadn't enough staff rostered. WTF ?
They can check airlines for numbers booked on flights - absolute nonsense. These people running DAA need a kick in the arse. Paid huge bucks & people miss their long awaited holidays - I'd have run rampant 'round the airport I swear to God if I missed my flight.
They'd put me up in a hotel till the next flight & pay compensation.
I SO annoyed on their behalf ..... :cuss:

Morning everyone

Cottage very basic so he agreed with hubby we are probably as well to knock and rebuild, not much difference in price. A2 BER rating compared with a B one. However it is in a special conservation area so we are going to be restricted with what we can do. He suggested first step was to contact planning. There is a form you can fill in that he is to send onto us. We outline what we would like to do and see what they say. That way we know where we stand and don’t waste time. Worst case scenario we do what we can with existing framework and the 40 sq metre you can add without planning. We have time so will see how it goes. At least we have it.

When are you finishing work Molly? Waves to everyone else. How are things with you Tabs?

Happy birthday Joe and welcome to the 70's.

Heavy rain here just in time for half term.

Managed a run yesterday, it was slow but I am over the moon, even if I feel like I have run a marathon this morning. ( it was just over 10k with walk breaks)

We're off to York tomorrow to see Jenny and finally meet her future mother in law. We're meeting in the wedding dress place where she's getting hers and it needs a few alterations then going out for lunch.

That's a great day out Jacks - tell Jenny to demand Prosecco, fancy sparkling water ( for you ) & cake to aid with the choosing of the dress
I went on my own to Switzers in Dublin ( I had SOME notions ) to buy my wedding dress
now it's a BIG occasion but a great chance to meet the outlaws.
