Was raining here too Rusters but sun back now so prolly on the way to you ;-)
Got loads done courtesy of the rain this morning...registered with a vet and a boarding kennels and a doctor for us..so yeah..sort of job you'll never do if the sun shining!

Morning...I've WiFi in my bedroom so quick hello before I get up...off to garden centre to buy shrubs and shit. Came without my purse ...ridiculous...so everything going on Joe's credit card....LOVELY? Nah...guess who pays that bill? ;-(

Booked a 2 week holiday in the Channel Islands . Just the flight at the moment. I have lots of running friends over there. Now to look for accommodation!

That’s great news Brit and nice that you have other people there. Bit by bit you will get there. We all have to get used to travelling again. Like JC I have only been to Jersey.

Sun is out again but have another half days work to do, just on my lunch break.

My life is now consumed with anxiety of living with an active alcoholic.
He is drinking on top of the Librium I managed to get him from my doctor - hoping it would work to allow him sober up. But he seems to just want to block out everything.
A zombie state seems to be his default now.
I'll be quiet for a while.

He is drinking on top of the Librium I managed to get him from my doctor - hoping it would work to allow him sober up. But he seems to just want to block out everything.
A zombie state seems to be his default now.
I'll be quiet for a while.

Well I presume the librium will run out shortly...an extreme alcoholic often can't get the buzz from booze anymore...they can go straight from sober to all out drunk missing the 'nice ' stage..so they play around with other substances to get the buzz...it's very common to combine cocaine with booze...anything would do...guess that's what he's at...thinking of you and wish I could say something wise.

Well done MrsA...I've never been to any of the islands but would love to go...great you've pals over there!

Yes they run out & he will be in the horrors. I'm going to drop him to the hospital & leave him there to have a proper detox.
Remember I said :

I expect a police car to pull up here any time now. Has never happened before and has to be my worst nightmare.
I feel like I'm talking about someone else - totally detached from us.

Well it happened today. In my world one of the worst things that can happen in a family - police at the door. Wanted his side of the story - has to report to police station in the morning.
I pride myself on being sensible & calm in a crisis - but this is the final straw - I'm beyond emotion at this stage & hope they lock him up.
Even poor 'ol Rosie is terrified with the raised voices the past few days. Cowering when she saw the police at the door.

We were to go to Munich on Friday - can't see that happening now.

Now enough about me & my stuff .......

Well done MsA. I've been to Jersey too - what island are you off to ? 'Twill be gorgeous over there this time of year. No doubt now your ticker is ok - you'll get up to all sorts of 'active things' - like climbing the odd mountain :haha:

Where on earth does he get the money to buy booze I was wondering? Mind you addicts can be very resourceful but mind you or himself aren't leaving money around he can take...I presume you've no booze in the house.

I wouldn't leave my house at his mercy if he's still around on Friday but if he's in the Mater I would deffo go to Munich..sounds like you need it!!

Hope you get him into the Mater Satz and Molly is right if he is in there you take yourself off to Munich. If not doubt if you would be able to enjoy yourself. It really is a horrendous disease.

Having the patio cleaned today. I used to do it myself but himself burned a hole in the hose of our power washer last year and I had to get someone in to do it. Took him 3 hours to do what would take me 3 days. Daughter having bbq at weekend for her birthday, hence the clean up. We are going west!

Yea agree with Molly [MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION], get away if you can. What's the craic getting him in somewhere?
So the cousin I always talk about, and I know we can't compare.. but same faith, he got detoxed in the mater.. but when he was being let out, all the family refused to take him, so the state were forced to look after him. Honestly, best thing they ever did. 1 brother kept in touch - they made my aunt step back completely (she still sees a therapist which is not a bad option for you right now?).
Roll on almost a year and he's doing OK. He's v complicated and drugs/booze have ruined him, but he's working and doing OK for thr 1st time in 20 years.

Evening....still little to no WiFi so just hello and nothing much to report...gardening still ongoing...and loving it..treating myself to a splurge at the garden centre tomorrow and very excited bout that...Joe nearly finished painting so going to down tools for the weekend and be tourists in our new county...beautiful day today and more forecast..what more could a body ask for!! Thinking of you all xxx
