    Making a comeback

    Hello All,
I have returned at last as I feel my life is in jeapardy (sp?) if I don't quit my grossly over-the-top wine consumption. The list of pros of quitting is so long, and the only con I can think of is ...... I am not sure!!!! The past 10 years has been hard with sports injuries, chronic foot and knee pain, and the stoopid meno - weight gain, inactivity when I used to be so active, and general inability to do anything after work but sit and drink wine and smoke. This must end now!!! I have started today on my detox under the guidance of my doctor, so I can't be alone and must take diazapem frequently for the next 4-5 days. Had to tell my boss, so he is letting me take a couple days off as a health leave. He is truly a wonderful man.
I am wondering if anybody is doing the program with the supplements and Topa. The doctor actually gave me a prescription for Topa to try again, as I really did find it helpful when I first started, and although it is not used much anymore for my problem, the doc thought I should try it again.
I need to find that page where you can mark each day of non-drinking. I used to find that helpful just seeing those boxes line up. I am working at figuring out the threads today and snooping around. I see there are so many members who were on this site way back in the day when I was very active on the site. Very, very nice to see you all!!!
    Best to everyone!!

      Re: Making a comeback

Day one complete. No cravings, as I think all that diazapem kept me in a purpetual sleepy daze so I was very lazy indeed. Lots of water too. I have to take three pills today, so hopefully I can scrounge up the energy to go grocery shopping (sans the wine store) and get some laundry done..... maybe. I wish I could start the Topa before the end of this plan from the doctor so I can get it in my system. I will have to ask about that!
Everyone have a wonderful Mother's Day - hope the weather is grand wherever you are in the world.
      xoxo Peanut

I did a diazepam detox about a half year ago. The diazepam really does help a lot; I found the period coming off it almost more difficult (but I also had a pretty severe dependence). I never tried toppa, but having a plan to transition from the diazepam to toppa seems like a good idea. Anyways, it can still be tough but stick with it, it does get better. Good luck!

Hey Mulberry - yes - it worked amazing well. I have never been able to make it past day three before. But stopping it was rough as I immediately started feeling those 'feelings', and got super antsy, but I think the Topa has started to kick in, although I am on low dose yet. Doing good here. Hope you are too!
