That's the jump you have to make...when you accept that booze is ruling and potentially going to ruin your life...it's a doddle...it really truly is..you don't need any other reason...look at the reality and look where your last drink of the night brings you (mentally and/or physically) and just decide...that's it..going to rule my own life. The fear of sobriety stops a lot of us from stopping...it did me for a long time..but the joy of being your own boss quickly enough takes over.

Re: There is always a reason to drink
Good for you...what I would say now tho is....think ahead...think of potential stumbling blocks (parties..lads nights out...weddings etc) and make a plan...you will be so friggin proud of yourself and also amazed at how many people around us aren't actually swilling the drink like we were...
I too loved the fun...I often think I was addicted to the fun rather than the drink:welldone:Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: There is always a reason to drink
When your trying to find a reason to drink, just think of the day after drinking. That alone will tell me that no reason is good enough to drink.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.
