    Re: July Army 2022

    hi Army,

late reply today-- hi Starty.. i'm new to posting regularly on this thread.. so am still catching up with the background.. sorry to hear about your troubles with the meds.. nightmare, those oxy's!.. i had to have my ovaries removed in 2017.. went directly (after 1 month) into full on menopause and thought i'd die.. my doctor prescribed hrt's and they've saved my life.. i don't know how it is in your neck of the woods.. and i don't have breast cancer in my family.. but here, they say, absolutely no problem these days, to be on them at least 5 years and even longer (i'm in Germany). they've changed my life..i couldn't sleep or work or deal with almost anything.. it still took me a long time to get off the booze.. but for me, they are separate problems.. seeing as i've been drinking myself to crazy since the age of 14!

we went to an old airport landing.. hasn't been in use forever and is now a place where people go to bbq, inline skate, picnic, fly kites.. which is why we were there today. to fly a kite.. my sweet man decided to get some sort of a sporty kite which we could barely put together, let alone get off the ground!! eye roll.. honestly.. he made it sound like the easiest thing on this earth.. another eye roll!:happy2:

Good evening ladies, is it warm enough for yiz?
Startypants, nice to see you posting again. I won’t pretend to understand exactly but to me addiction is addiction deep down, be it drink, drugs, gambling or others, a way to change how we feel at that exact moment in time, to escape. Why we do it, how we learn to face life without a crutch and face feelings head on is at the crux of it all I guess. So that being said you know the routine, stick around and talk, don’t do what I did and isolate deeper into myself the worse I felt.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

        :distress:FFS ! it's boiling here tonight.
In bed with a fan working overtime & STILL HOT !!

Here's an insight into our circadian rhythm

Your body’s internal temperature shifts during a 24-hour period. This is known as a
        circadian rhythm
. Your body begins to shed warmth right about the time you go to bed and continues to cool down until reaching its low point near daybreak, at around 5 a.m.

        You're welcome !!

I'm now going to attempt to get my temp down ........... I reckon it'll be about 5 am

Omg Elsie...kites...we have kites...big kites ...little kites...kites like airplanes...kites we bought in China...guaranteed to fly kites....he has never ever EVER got a kite off the ground...well except one time we went camping on a windy cliff in Kerry...our tent was an amazing kite ;-)

Early start today. Gym then we will go hiking to Lough Dan.
I told yiz about it before. It's gorgeous.
You walk & walk round a mountain & then descend into a valley. Then it opens up to this tiny 'beach' on the lake.
Reckon the hoards may be gone by today :yay:

                  Good morning

Wish I could swop places with you Satz. Working the weekend has its advantages, you will certainly avoid the hoards. Enjoy.

Still no water pressure. Bloody nuisance. Better get a move on and get ready for work.

                    Morning everyone,

Thanks for all the kind words. Its much appreciated.

It is boilio scorchio here today. Touching 40 so got out with the doggies at 6. They are fine, thanks for asking Rustop

Its so interesting to hear about the different reactions to menopause. I was one of those convinced I was sailing through and doing OK until it was pointed out that perhaps I might not have been :haha: Then a read back of the diaries kind of put more weight on why I might want to look at it. As I am so desperate to sort my head out and not go down any more rabbit holes something else has to be tried. I don't think Im depressed and certainly have no reason to be. Eg when mum was ill for so long I can understand that was situational depression which is different from this.

In my world LC, I think I was lucky. I did my research and told my doctor what I was looking for rather than let him steer me. I don't think its always as easy as that though. There is still this massive fear that was driven from the WHI study released in 2002 that virtually said HRT causes breast cancer. That is changing but slowly. I was even prepared to quote the NICE guidelines to him.

That walk looks amazing Satz! Totally agree Molls Air con is awful. Give me a fan any day.

You're right Tabbers. Not talking is definitely a recipe for disaster. I have found myself a little group that has the same issues with opiates and it is great. Lots of us are on the same day with quits etc and the support is really helpful. Lovely to see you doing so well too!

I am working today and still from home. I know some don't agree with it but it works for me and Im not customer facing so no one is waiting for me to answer the phone. I don't honestly think I will be going back in.

                    Have a good day everyone

My only problem...no...I have two but one doesn't apply to me anymore...and as yiz all know...its always 'ALL ABOUT MEEEEE'!!!
THE #1 is appalling customer service...no joined up thinking cos they're all scattered..be it connecting electricity..Internet.. bins..you name it ive had it in the last few weeks
#2...when I was working it was evident that many within our organisation were swinging the lead...all over Instagram playing golf and telling folk how rich they are now cos they don't need childcare...while we were customer facing....all through covid...a few weeks during the big lockdown..other than that no one gave a fig if we just died!!!!
Having said that ...of course there were loads of the good guys (figure of speech...mainly women) who were on call 24/7 it seemed which wasn't right either.
If it works for you Starty I'm delighted!!
                      Jeez it's hot...

                        Re: July Army 2022

                        Morning
                        On the subject of WFH.
I believe it works in some cases.

I think if you have a good work ethic you can work anywhere. If you are a dosser - always trying to find the easy way out - it is innate and will affect your work no matter where you are.
With regard to Customer Service employers have a responsibility to ensure that the WHF set-up is conducive to providing the same service as working in the office. If complaints are monitored & taken seriously they will know if it's working out or not.

YS started the new job as Web Designer for Limerick University.
Because digs are notoriously hard to find in the city he will work from home for a few weeks.

This is only a good thing as it will allow him get quality sober time under his belt.

Molls customer service in this country has been appealing for decades since companies decided it was cheaper to outsource to India, Malaysia, etc and pay buttons to people whose first language is not English and their culture is totally different. Not their fault of course.
I saw it where I worked - Payroll & Benefits was outsourced. Problem was they were in a different time-zone to us and employees ( the customer ) were waiting days for a response to a simple query. No more human interaction by phone either. All online.
The team in Malaysia had a HUGE learning curve and they struggled. At least when it came to deductions : taxes, healthcare, pension etc - in this country we had some idea about it when we started the job.
We spent more time monitoring them and their responses than we did doing the actual work. Thousands & thousands spent flying the team into Ireland and others flying out there.

It was one of the reasons I got out - no human interaction any more & I missed it.

                          Good morning everyone

Oh boy is it hot, awake since 4.30 am and walked the dogs at 5.30!

Hope you had a lovely day at Lough Dan Satz and fingers crossed for YS.

Don’t get me started on customer service, am dealing with Irish Water at the moment, enough said. Pressure so low that tank in attic not filling and us in the middle of heatwave.

Off to work. At least they have air conditioning. Hope JC, you are ok? Thinking of you.

When we got there the sun went in & it started to spit rain - FFS !!
The plus was we were the only ones there for ages & we had a very pleasant few hours swimming.

I should have been more grateful 'cos on the climb back up the sun came out - 30 degrees & I thought I'd die.

Rusters try Twitter for Irish Water. I tweeted them one time for the same issue - they came straight back & were soooo pleasant.
Maybe we need to catch up on the modern methods of communication :egad:
