Re: July Army 2022

Morning all...have Max back today so my peaceful idyll is over...he's trying now to sit on my knee (all35k of him) on the sunbedwith a big sloppy giggle ball on my lap.
I've also found shopping online is less reliable than it has been...maybe just unlucky but 2 different items gone awol...one in particular...the ahem 'customer service' deem that as their shipping company have lost it its not their fault...and yeah again ..a lot lost in translation...its a small order but ive been buying big things online with the house move and I'd be up the walls!
I wonder is it all the beginning of the end of the world:beast:

Re: July Army 2022

Good afternoon everyone.
Just got back from Guernsey after a fabulous holiday. I met up with a group of runners who we had met in 2019. They made me so welcome, met me at the airport and drove me to my hotel
I was never on my own during the two weeks and was taken to an island for a camping trip, went on a yacht to a nearby beach for a cliff run , followed by a meal and a swim. I went to a concert in the castle etc. etc.
I was dreading going on holiday on my own but it was such a success and I do count my blessings even though I do miss Mr A so much.
Going to read back now.

And in other news --- I FINALLY have broadband -- so so delighted about that -- had no idea how much I'd become dependent on it - and also trying to type on my phone with big mutton chop fingers.... the laptop is out and charged and yay --- and have Netflix and my mini-box in my bedroom... chuffed!!

OH --- and an engineer was allegedly coming to put it in for me but he didn't come - so I did it myself -- so very proud!!

Evening all,

The holiday in Guernsey sounds fab Mrs A. Its such a beautiful place and with all your mates to support you must've been amazing.

Nice work on the bb Molls. I really would struggle without decent broadband. Partly WFH but mostly for my own entertainment.

Melting today. My little office was 33.5 degrees and it was so uncomfortable. Hate to say it but its going to be a bit rainy tomorrow and Im delighted. The fires round here have been so worrying. And my poor dogs have been beside themselves. Hoping we all get some sleep tonight.

Where's Jax? Is she not around anymore?

Don't listen to that shite Molls - your contract is with the retailer & they have to fix it & send you a replacement. You don't care how/who they get it to you - but you want a refund or replacement.

Was Max with Joe on his travels ? How did that work :egad:
And :welldone: on sorting the BB - who needs men eh ?

Also at Max with Joe...he's swanning around Slovenia...up the rocky mountains down the rushy glen..on his motorbike..think Max would have struggled...no he went to kennels for a week..couldn't hack him for 3 weeks!!'

good morning Army!

sounds like everyone is struggling with the heat! supposed to be 37° here today and i'm dreading going into the kitchen.. yesterday was a nightmare cooking for 65 on my own-- just 2 more days and at least they found me a huge fan!

sounds like you had a lovely holiday, MrsA..how nice to have friends there to take care.. i remember you being an avid runner and you're still really enjoying it. do you have nice trails to run on where you live?

Starty, what kind of dogs do you have and how many? Rusty, sounds like you also have more than one..? and Molly, had to laugh at the vision of Max on your lap.. (and at your description of kites the other day!).. he sounds like a biggish dog, right? i'm envious of you all with dogs! if any of you are on instagram you should check out @wolfgang2242.. he's a guy who started adopting old dogs from the shelters, keeping some and fostering others till he could find homes for them.. very sweet stories and pictures of little friends..

ok.. got to get off the sofa..
wishing you all a lovely Wednesday!

Morning LC and other early risers!

Cannot imagine working in a kitchen in this heat. Struggled yesterday at 33, but mainly it was worry about the dogs etc. No sleep again last night which doesn't help.

I have a golden retriever (big hairy lump) and a lurcher (skinny hairless lump) Both absolutely the loves of my life. Poor things really struggled yesterday. Casey the retriever is lying outside now in the garden looking more comfortable.

Jealous of Joe's adventures Molly, sounds like he is back to rude health after his diffulties a couple of years ago !

Off for a few miles round the country park before work now.

Have a good day all

Morning all!
Awake at sparrow-fart as usual.
lifechange
A day in that kitchen sounds horrendous - I feel for the chefs in work too - not even a fan. Apparently some bright spark back in 2020 decided that fans in the Nursing Home would blow Covid around the place - FFS !!
No-one thinks to challenge the madey-up 'rule' 2 years later. The Nurses & carers are dying on their feet and still say nothing. I would down tools.

I'm on Reception and have my own fan - feck that.

I must check out @wolfgang2242.

On tik-tok there's an Irish doggie paddythecollie who talks to them - hilarious the expressions on the Paddy's face.

Good morning everyone

Another one awake at sparrow fart. Dogs walked at 7 am. Bit cooler today. Feel for you working in a kitchen LC. My workplace has air conditioning so I’ve been grand the last two days.

Delighted you had a nice holiday Brit and were looked after. You will always miss Mr A but am sure it is what he would have wanted.

Water back but it may only be temporary so have to keep after them. They are experts at passing the book.

Right off to the airport to drop himself off as he’s going fishing.

Hello from a ferry on its way back to athens! Missed so much here!!

Great to see you starty, a timely menopause discussion, seems that's all myself and buddies discuss these days. Noticing changes now too, doc said leave it a few months and we will look at hrt if I want it. Problem is the symptoms are subtle.. what if they are not hormone related!

So is YS back on the wagon :applause2: satz123??? Delighted to read he's working now. Having a focus is massive..
Maud.. o.m.g.. nuts!!
Where is JackieClaire??

How's the heat over there today, and the water pressure Rustop!!

Weather on the islands was very bareable becasuè of the winds.. we even did a 60k round trip on ebikes In 30 degree heat!! Wind blasted through us, but the ebikes did all the work, they were like scooters really, great craic.

Your still going strong lifechange, brilliant!!
I passed my 7 year mark last week. Icecream was had we will be rolling home from here, the food is so good!

Fleeting moments of desire for a cold class of white wine. Hard not to in the sun, sea and sand. It passes, it always does.. imagining the hours after the 1st glass always does the trick.

Home on Friday. Will be looking forward to that too.
AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

ah the missing trooper -- so glad you enjoyed the island part of the hol -- 30 doesn't sound bad at all these days -- mind you it's cooled down here today (PTL) so getting out to do a bit of gardening if Max allows... he's driving me mad -- there's a field across the road from us that usually has horses in it -- he's grand with that -- but today there are cows... he's killing himself trying to knock down the gates to get over to them -- aaarrrghghghg --- WHY??? (that's why am I stuck with a bloody dog -- I know the why of the cows -- Max has OCD undoubtedly -- the cows don't belong)

where does himself go fishing on a plane Rusters? Sounds very grand ;-)

Joey and all his little ducklings are coming down for August bank holiday -- one of them is phobic about dogs and the kennels are full -- ffs -- anyway was talking on the phone to Joe and he says he'll do the minding and the walking and generally dogs dogsbody ;-)

OMG it is wonderful having broadband!!!! now must get my bread outta the hotpress hahaha!!
