Good morning everyone

Lovely morning here too. Walked the dogs and going to climb a mountain later. Loved the 80’s, was in my 20’s, no kids, loads of holidays, lots of happy memories.

Nice that your daughter came to visit Molly. Enjoy the lake.

Morning,
Just spent a pleasant hour or so with someone from my bank. My bank account had been hacked twice..................all good now as we spoke to them and the bloke was so lovely.
Will get a new one later in the week. Tbh not only did it shock me, it made me very, very anxious.

Alfie is a wee darling......:heartbeat:.....best bit of being a Granny you can give then back when they've pooped their nappy.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Ah you must be just besotted with young Alfie JackieClaire!
I was raging we didnt see the Book of Mormons when it was on here last year. Next time..

Happy Anniversary satz123 :happy2:
We were at a party last night, outdoor with a pool (sounds v posh but wasnt really), music was blaring and people were dancing - swimming togs were being produced as we left (no amount of money would pay me to get into a pool with drunk people). Had an audience of about 10 when someone asked me what I was drinking, then person B says, no Mary doesnt drink. Got the usual, 'ever' 'have you ever drank' 'how long' blah blah blah.. Actually it doesn't bother me anymore, but its interesting to watch drunk people process this information, then bladder on justifying their own drinking, as if I am judging them (I am )
Woke up this morning and just thought, no hangover, decent sleep, no scraps with Mr M, no emotional outbursts and absolutely no regrets of things I might have said or done.
Its a big effort getting to this point, but omg, the rewards are so worth it.

Met cousins yesterday too so today I am cleaning :crybaby:

I'll just leave this here. I loved it at the time - I think there was a series on tv around the time - so imagined Heathcliffe to be this hunk.

hi again!

Happy Anniversary, Satz and Mr. Satz! 45 years.. wowza!:happy2: i used to like Kate Bush, too.. a song called, "This Woman's Work".. also got it from a fillm.. still get goosebumps!

Molly, Happy belated Anniversary to you, too! hope you had a lovely day at the lake! we didn't actually end up going swimming, but had a super nice and looong bike ride.. we may have gotten ourselves a bit lost!!

sounds wonderful with little Alfie, JC..

Mary, so nice to read that! i love to read about all the advantages that come to those who choose this AF path!! sounds like you were quite the center of attention, too.. could very well be that you're helping someone out by telling parts of your story! someone who might be questioning their relationship with alcohol..

all well here.. having a few little troubles with my guy.. i was a bit on edge with him this weekend.. now that i'm clear headed and more aware of stuff i've been putting up with cause i felt bad for drinking (not just from him, but from my youngest daughter and from a couple of friends), i want to talk and possibly set some boundaries.. little but annoying things..
we'll figure it out.. he's a love and so supportive of my decision to quit with the b.s.!

hugs and see you tomorrow..

Oh MY Elsie! How my relationship changed with Joe post-alcohol...it took a bit of tweaking at the beginning cos I truly had let myself become a bit of a doormat....anything for peace sort of thing..and no confidence in my ability to know or understand what I should or shouldn't put up with. If your guy is a good one...and sounds like he is...he will admire his new strong woman and if he doesn't....we'll that's another story ....you are sounding great....

Evening ladies, all’s well this Sunday evening. Just remembering, note to myself, don’t sweat the small stuff.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Morning Army!

not sweating the small stuff is a life saver, Tabs! i've been trying to keep that in mind, too.. life really is too short.

soooo, 30 days here today!:happy2: it's been a long time since i've had anything near 30 days.. and i feel like i've been doing the work this time, setting myself up for success because this is what i want more than ANYTHING! so making the commitment to myself and knowing that I have control over whether or not i pour poison down my throat! lots of things i don't have control over, but that thing i do..

looking forward to the next 30... xx

Wonderful Elsie...just bloody great! Loved when I could start counting in weeks and then months...I let it be important to me cos losing that period of sobriety was an obstacle if I needed it if picking up that glass sounded good!

Afternoon everyone

Huge congratulations LC, you have put in the work and should be very proud of yourself. Keep doing the same as you have been doing, just listen to Mary yesterday, after years of sobriety she’s still giving thanks.

Enjoy your weekend Satz. Wish the weather would improve. My good news is that of this morning we have an electric shower in the cottage. This is major! Think I’ll make a midweek trip down to check it out.
