Re: July Army 2022
Good morning all,
Off work now for 11 days. Turned out nice again Would love to go away but with the cost of living crisis that isnt happening. Energy about to go up by 77% on top of other rises. Not sure how people are supposed to cope with that. I have bought myself an electric throw that doesn't cost much to use. As I work from home and this house is cold, I need something.
Has all this affected you guys?

Re: July Army 2022
That sounds fabulous Rustop. Yep, apparently seaweed has so many amazing properties. We are starting to finish out long runs by the sea now and get in for a dip to let the cold salt water do its thing. Bloody jellyfish are everywhere though, up the with the flying rats.
Good luck with the banquet tomorrow Molly, they'll have very high expectations, showing off the new gaff!!
11 days starty, that's so nice. We havnt noticed a big dip yet but it's coming. I'm putting my head in the same for a little while longer..AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: July Army 2022
good morning everyone!
Mary, that sounds wonderful after a long run..- the jellyfish.. tell me again where you are? are you in Ireland as well?
Molly, have fun with the gang.. had to laugh at your naivety with the furniture.. sounds like me! i also curse if i have to get the ladder out!
11 days off is a treat, Starty!! we have also been warned of the energy rises coming.. i'm quite scared to tell the truth..
my youngest had to cancel her hiking trip due to fires east of here.. so sad to think of all the forests burning all over the world atm.. heavy heart..
it's cooled off here but no sign of rain..
wishing you all a nice Friday.. and upcoming weekend..xx

Re: July Army 2022
yeah, i think they came up quite suddenly.. called a hotel on Wednesday to ask if i could transfer the money so the kids wouldn't have to carry it around, and they told me that as of Tuesday it was going crazy.. hopefully it will be brought under control...?
Joe's been gone a long time! what does PTL stand for?! i always drive everyone crazy with my "acronyms".. the girls thought i'd made up FOMO!.. definitely have had it but didn't make it up!

Waves to all. Meant to get here earlier but got a grumbly tummy.
I don't care how healing seaweed is..............I'm not sitting in it.............ever.
Ahh Molls, when my in-laws were due a visit we used to run around cleaning like madmen.
We've got to tidy the back bedroom (other wise known as the dumping area) this weekend as Jenny's wedding dress is being delivered soon. Only 27 days to go and I've got a knot of anxiety in my stomach.
The weather up in the NE of England is for want of a better word.............is miserable but no rain.
Lost the quiz last night..............we were 5th. Doesn't bother me as the prize is 4 bottles of wine.
lifechange.................I had to look up FOMO :happy2: I'm the same.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: July Army 2022
Morning Elsie and Jacks -- and all the other durty stop outs ;-)
ah PTL -- I've always loved that one - robbed it from an old thread that used to be on here -- Steppers ---- a great and very popular thread back when MWO was hopping.... anyway -- somebody posted on there about holier than thou sort of people -- no sense of humour -- we'd call them woke now I s'pose -- but she described them as the PTL brigade -- praise the lord it stands for... I'm sure no one in my life knows what I'm talking about and you're the first one to ask :yay:Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Joe's been gone 3 weeks Elsie --- with the exception of when he was in hospital during Covid I've never been away from him for anything like as long as that --- it had begun to feel weird actually -- loved the first week -- no dog - he was in kennels -- eat when I wanted - watch what I wanted on tele - go to bed - get up whenever I wanted and the sun was splitting the trees -- but enough now -- will be glad to have him back for sure -- well until he drives me mad 20 mins after he gets home:hahaha:Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: July Army 2022
Evening all. Just surfacing enough to post.
Wedding was 'interesting'.
The bride's side are all Ukrainian - most gone to Canada & the mother is mental. They had some unusual little add-ons to the ceremony that no-one bothered to explain. It involved doing something with what looked like a tablecloth.
The food was yummy - then it was me clock watching from about 9pm. I couldn't even talk to people the music was too loud. I took off eventually at 12.
Up like a lark next day - that feeling never fails to give me enjoyment. No pounding head, no furry tongue, no gagging for a drink to feel better.
I gave day 2 of the festivities in a pub a wide berth but of course SIL was ready to go by 1:30 .

Re: July Army 2022
Evening everyone
Glad you got through the wedding ok Satz. Back from the west. Had lovely time with daughter. First visit that I just relaxed and enjoyed it. We had seaweed baths, hiked and kayaked.
Back to real world now. Long weekend here so the traffic was crazy. Going on holiday next week to Madeira so need to get stuff ready.
