Super Sober Shout Out Sunday, July 17th, 2022

I'd like to see a big SUPER SOBER SHOUTY OUTY from members who have been here a while, those starting out again or those just starting out for the very first time.........don't forget to shout LOUD AND PROUD!

Don't be shy and give it a try, remember each and every one of us here started with a day one!!!!

SHOUT IT LOUD AND SHOUT IT PROUD. STAY STRONG AND KEEP THINKING POSITIVE ONE AND ALL. LET'S GIVE OUR BEST TOGETHER

By using the time and date app........ you'll know whether you've a roundy number or not a roundy number..........Date Duration Calculator: Days Between Dates

For me (Sunday) it is 2742 days from the start date to the end date, or 7 years, 6 months, and 4 days including the end date.
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

3311 days from the start date to today.
Or

9 years, 24 days.

Whatever way we count it it's a hell of a long time to be alcohol free in a community obsessed with the stuff.

From cradle to grave - alcohol is centre stage :

• Child's christening - pub ( wet the baby's head):baby:
• Communion & Confirmation - pub
• Family Sunday Lunch - pub
• Graduation - pub :tenten:
• Football match - pub ( in fact usually a clubhouse attached to the football field):two:
• Get a job - pub
• Getting married - pub :congrats:
• Funeral - deffo pub

• Giving directions - a pub is always the focal point

So I am extremely proud of the fact that I have protected my sobriety for 9+ years ......... anyone starting out - YOU CAN TOO !

I can feel my reasoning taking over from my emotions when it comes to have a drink. Now I am stepping away from my emotions and reasoning out why I should or shouldn’t drink. I am finding many more reasons not to and the emotions (urges) are diminishing so that I can think clearly and make the right choice. If that makes sense. So TODAY is day 22. I actually am proud of myself for this. A longtime coming to arrive here. I am thankful for everything, mostly my health that allows me to exercise and get through the tough moments. Best to everyone…. hyper

Well done Hyper, one foot in front of the other, you are doing this.

646 days for Tabbers on my voyage of discovery.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Cool quote, Cowboy!

Too true, satz123; anymore every single event is an excuse to drink.

I’m proud of you too, @ Hypernova!
