Re: Army August 2022

Morning,
The man that can is coming this evening to fix the front door. :welldone:

I was supposed to have party for my retirement but it was cancelled as Mr. JC's hip dislocated getting into bed and we had to wait over seven hours for an ambulance.

We 'retire' at 66. Mr JC is 4 years younger than me so my pension goes into savings account.

And yes Molls my brain still thinks I'm 17 too.

Off for my craft club this morning.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Ah no JAcks at 17 I was too young and still with the nuns in school - wouldn't have been thinking straight.

God when I look back I can't really pick an age where I had myself together.
20's mortgage, full time job & 2 babies.
30's I suppose was the time - matured (a bit ) and left work to mind said childer. Gang of us wimmin around here had such craic while the kids were at school.
40's I suppose I got more confidence - retrained & went back after a few years to the workplace fulltime
50's Menopause - alcohol dependence moving upwards.
If I'm honest now in my 60's is where I feel best about myself. I feel like a young 'un because I'm surrounded by older than me at work.
Still get a fright when I look in the mirror at my 'laughter' (frown) lines :haha:
But don't want to use a shaggin' bus pass.

I will never use a bus pass...that is the last straw! My life fairly similar path to yours really..hate BEING 60's but love the knowledge and the insight those years have given me.

Evening

Molly use it for train. Lovely way to travel. You paid tax all your life, only fair you get something back. Just hit 60 this year and yea fairly similar path, although only started having babies at 30. Don’t mind being 60 and definitely a lot happier in my skin.

Back from hols safe and sound. Only 20 minute delay. Lovely to come back to a heatwave.

I was the same with the CIE bus to Dublin to work every day Molls ....

Started labour on a bloody bus later on..... rattley old yoke. Remember those ?
Waters broke when I eventually got home.

Haven't been on PT for years if I can avoid it. Don't think I'd know what to do. :egad:
I do love the train though ...... my Dad used to bring us on Mystery Train Tours when we were kids. Always seemed to end up in Kilkenny :haha:

Maybe a long trip to Norn Iron or something in Wintertime would be nice.... mmmmmm

Ah sure Joe has a 2 for 1 travel pass for years...we've never used it...so can't imagine mine will be a big hit! Actually packed a bag for tomorrow...usually rolling things up and lobbing them at a bag as he stands in hall ...impressed myself! Elsie must be in Poland by now...Army all over the gaff the last while.

Hi all,

Yes everyone seems to be out and about. Lovely.

I broke a tooth so had dentist this morning. Feel very fortunate as no one can get NHS dentist in this country. She filed it down and told me again its on borrowed time. Its been on borrowed time for years so not worried. Got a dr appt this afternoon for HRT check. Its a telephone call between 1pm and 7 so I have to sit in the only part of the house that has a good reception for possibly 7 hours without moving :haha: Lets hope its not a late call.

Absolutely scorchio here just now so walking dogs at 6am and they won't be out again til tomorrow now.

Hope alls going well with YS Satz

No Starts. He is drinking non stop for 14 days now.
He'll last till about 3pm then needs a drink as withdrawals kick in and the shakes, sickness, anxiety starts. I understand that - but how to break the cycle ?
I do not know what to do.

We're invited to a BBQ in Skerries this afternoon - so we're going. He may have to sort this himself. I'm fed up of it all.
MrS is just an ol' narky fecker to me because he's worried & doesn't know how to cope with emotion.

I don't understand it tho....yes I understand he gets sick and anxious but surely if he's wanting it that's where a detox comes in? Can't understand why you are feeling tied to it either...you've given the ultimatum so surely now it's detox or on your bike lad? It's inhumane that you two are supposed to put up with this...it really is xxx

Can you go privately to a doctor Starty? We have to pay if we don't have a medical card but it's back to normal appts now...you fork out 50-60 quid but you see them same day face to face...fucked if I'd want to sit in a corner of my house for hours...very arrogant! Think the heat making me grumpy...ignore me all

Just a quick one as I've got the tummy problems (polite way of I've got the trots)............think its been brought on by stress of the wedding. Keep telling me myself all I've got to do to is stand there smile nicely and not fall of my high heels. I've got a bag with some flats for after the photos are finished.

If you're bored look up why your guts are a second brain

starty...............We've got an NHS dentist...........they're few and far between these days. I still had to shell out £60 plus for my last visit for something she did. Can't remember now why but it was something not covered by the NHS.

A private dentist charges are horrendous. Private doctors charge a fortune..................that's prolly why my cousin lives in a a gigantic 5 bedroom house.

Off I go again......................:toilet:
It could be worse, I could be filing.

OMG the heat, hotter here than Madeira. Have to say lovely being able to sit out etc. walked the dogs at 7 am, too hot since. You picked the right type of holiday Molly.

Have to go now and do a grocery shop, hate it!

Dr called at 3 so only had to wait 2 hours :haha: I got exactly what I wanted from him too! So very happy. Its because they do very few in person appointments now and mostly on the telephone so they dont actually schedule a time, well only am or pm. I knew it would be that way so was able to book it on my day off. I have private health care Molls but this was HRT chat so its best to stick with the prescriber in this case. But absolutely, whenever I dont get what I need, I trot off to private as I did with my back. The Gp just gave me valium to relax my muscles but I actually have bulging discs and a at that time a torn ligament. Valium wasn't cutting it. Your health care system sounds better than ours Molls!

We also have private dentist and its horrendously expensive. JC if I could go NHS I absolutely would but they are as rare as hens teeth round here. Hope your tummy gets better soon!

Satz, I am sorry he's at it again. Maybe its time for him to pack his bags as you said. They say someone has to reach rock bottom to start coming up, perhaps he is not there with you guys sorting him out? Where does he get the money from? I walk round the supermarket and look at the price of it all and cannot imagine how expensive it is to support a habit these days
