Well. Apparently treatment centre was very intense for the 4 weeks.
He's keeping busy here.

As was the case the last time he's out cycling, joined local gym, eating me out of house & home. Literally.
He's been going to AA meetings in person & online other times. A lot of in-person meetings never came back after Covid.
He will go to Aftercare in the Rutland Centre each week so with no car we'll have to bring him. Or he may cycle out & we pick him up. Pain in the arse too but we'll do it. But I know there is AlAnon there too so we will try get the same night.

Only time will tell. So we are back to square one watching him - which is not ideal but hopefully he'll get on that scheme in Tralee. It's where former residents of centre who are in recovery get their own accomodation, are offered 20 hours work a week and they stick together for 6/12 months.

Thank feck for the world cup soccer to keep him from being in his room too much. He has to come down & mingle with his father ( even I don't do that) :haha:

Afternoon from the doom bringer.
Pa-in-law is back into his coma and not long for this world. Think the other day was his last hooray.
Ma-in-law who is now in the nursing home and kicking up a right strop. The fact that she can't get upstairs, bathe and can't change her shin bandages herself might have given her a clue.
The headmaster at Jenny's school has given her permission to leave early so she can get up here from York tonight. Mr. JC will take her to see both grandparents.

IamMary..............well done your offspring. :welldone:

satz123...............Mr. JC and I had a rather 'heated' conversation about the location of the World Cup. He bangs on about its only a game and I bang on about the treatment of women over there.

mollyka.............hope he's still turning that corner.

And some good news we won the quiz at my pals gym and not to blow my own trumpet it was me that got the tie-breaker. Only problem is the prize was four bottles of red wine and a bottle of sparkling wine.. Jenny can clank home with a couple of them and the rest will gifted.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

That's quite normal Jacks. If she keeps it up just tell her she's there for a bit of respite - to be looked after 'till her legs get better. That she cannot live on her own while her legs need to be bandaged daily.

Well done :welldone: on the quiz JackieClaire.
That was the ice-breaker question ?

I love an 'ol quiz. Here they are always in a pub ..... which makes it easier to answer questions as people get drunker.
Then it starts getting messy with teams swapping answers. That's when I get annoyed & threaten to leave :haha:

Oh and I agree with you Jacks. it's not just a game of football. The rest of the world gathering in Qatar gives credence to a slave nation with a despicable human rights record.
6,500 migrant workers alone lost their lives building the World Cup stadium.
All women have a male guardian who control every aspect of their lives. Permission is needed to do anything.

Good morning

Did not realise it was that many workers, truly appalling. You in work today Satz? Blowing up a storm here but I was lucky to have gotten out at 8 am and got a long walk.

Well done on the quiz JC, have not been to one in years.

Nothing much planned for today. Might clean out a few kitchen cupboards.

Just a quickie as we've got Jenny here and making the most of her.

Yep all human rights go down the toilet when it comes to footie.

Yes Rusters - I was in work today.
Thankfully management etc aren't in at the weekend - so it's nice & relaxed and everything STILL gets done. We just manage ourselves.

The matriarch of the family that just sold the home just waltzed in today. She needs to be reminded that she doesn't work or have free access there anymore.
She's 80 and can be a right old cow - 'specially to the younger staff.
I decided to let her past the door today one last time 'cos she had a huge tray of Danish & other pastries for the staff or the peasants as she thinks of everyone.
Lady fecking bountiful. Full of her own importance.
One of these people that treat waiters badly in a restaurant - clicking the fingers etc - that type.

Next time I'll stop her .....

Ugh, can't stand people who are full of their own importance. Prince or pauper, its just a birth lottery.
Glad to hear YS doing well. So far so good.
As ridiculous as it is about holding the world Cup in Qatar, it is shedding some light on the place, maybe there will be a small ripple of change.

We watched The swimmers on netflix tonight, was excellent.

Morning everyone

Have a good day at work Satz, keep the old biddy out. Hate that type of person. Hope you had nice visit with Jenny JC.

Hope Joe continues to improve. Yea lifechange, check in. No judgement here.

Just back from a two hour hike. Needed to get a climb in. I have signed up to climb Snowden in April.

satz123...........hope you'll be free of the auld biddy today and if she appears again give her a brush and bottle of Domestos and get her to clean the toilets next time she 'visits'

Absolutely a smashing day with our Jenny.TBH I thought she was just chatting until she went to meet her mates and uses us as a free B&B but not this time........... We sat and watched all the footie matches and just chatted. Although Mr. JC took her in to see Grandpa. He's still unconscious and we know he'll not coming home.

We've just been up to visit Ma-in-Law while she's not jumping for joy about being in the home but she's still got her marbles and knows that Mr. JC and his sister can't be there 24/7. A lot happier now she's got her heated curlers.
She was bit put out as we interfered with her watching the World cup game. 98 years old and still got all her marbles.

Then tonight we're going to see the S&H in his choir.

Snowden :egad: me too Molls and I'm not even sick with 'le Covid' .........

Anyone watching The Crown ? I just caught up with the new season.

Then started on IamMary's recommendation Swimmers - it's very good and brings to life what those refugees we hear of flocking to Greece go through to get away.
A lot of subtitles and I'm too tired for that tonight. I'll revisit it tomorrow night.

Ah ye big 'ol softie.
I used to hate Christmas & all the fakeness & bonhomie that it generates.
But I enjoyed the last 2 years mainly because they were generally very low key and annoying people stayed at home more.
I'm beginning to look forward to it.
Although yesterday, while travelling the 15 minutes to work in heavy traffic going to Dublin & Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, I could see it gearing up to be truly back to 'normal' :culpability:

oh errr and Happy Monday Army

Off to the gym in 30 mins (if I don't manage to talk myself out of it)
