Re: December Army 2022

EVENING ALL !
This is silly - but very excited about my new cordless vacuum.
The other one, a Dyson ,was all the go years ago - and we have it years - the poor yoke is fecked. I've actually re-built it by replacing every part over the years.

Not sure if the Dyson was actually crap & we thought it was good - but the new one, a Miele, is AMAZING. The dirt I collected from just one room :egad:
Got it online in Arnotts reduced from €565 to €299.99. Delira !
Funny what makes us happy :haha:

Omg.. I LOVE a bargain. I wouldn't be without my robotic hoover though.. a brilliant invention.

I don't normally cook with wine, but I did recently, slow cooked beef. I used to throw it into everything, any excuse to drink more and lie about how much went into the dish vs how much went into me.

Well done MrS starty. 2 years is very solid, he's brilliant.

Im not sleeping great these days. I nod off grand but keep waking up, go to the loo and have to wait for sleep to come back. I don't even need to use the bathroom. Tried tynol (have a box of 500 from the states.. well a different name but same ingredients), but it makes me groggy the next day.
Have a few melatonin that I'll try tomorrow if tonight is crap.

Finished work until the 4th. It's showtime now (code for me screaming at husband and kids for 3 days :haha.

HAHA misread that as 29.99....went on a rant about Dyson...cost me a FORTUNE last year...I had an old Dyson and tbh it wasn't great...I stood up for it cos Joe always gave out about it but the new one is brill so I'm happy with it but 300 quid really good!

Gonna be busy here today...get everything ready to pack the car in the morning....think we'll need a truck...jilly keeps sending me lists of little things she needs for the Christmas...like microwave and duvets:egad:

IamMary. You deserve a robotic EVERYTHING Mers with all those hormonal kids ( & MrM ) around and your other various hanger's on who will arrive. :haha:
That trouble with sleep, when I looked back years later, heralded the Menopause for me & the increase in drinking :egad:
Lack of sleep is the worst thing ever for mental & physical health.

Mers my advice is do WHATEVER you need to get sleep. Throwing MrS into spare room when he snored after pints - that was the one single thing that helped me. + ear plugs other nights. Impossible to get back to sleep with someone else twitching or snoring beside you.
There is no shame in separate rooms if it helps with insomnia.

Magnesium helps too.

FFS Molls - be cheaper for you to host it yourself :haha:
Did you buy a new Dyson ?
Don't get me wrong the Dysons are brilliant - but I didn't want to fork out €600 on a new one.
Mine was just way past its 'sell by date'.

God no....no house cleaning...no Christmas eve family all arrive for grub...no bedmaking...no Christmas breakfast...no Joe cleaning windows...(his ritual every year when the Dyson needs a run really)....so much I don't have to do....magic!!

Yup I got the new one last year and I'll be honest...its amazing...It'd lift the paint off the walls I reckon...but yeah...fierce expensive...was going to treat myself to Dysons hair thing....ffs till I realised it was about 500 yoyos for a glorified hairdryer!!

God yeah me neither inkele:
You'll probably have to do a lot but it's so much easier in someone else's house. Let them clean the bathrooms while you ponce around doing fancy things with a sherry trifle . And say as they used to "can I help at all ? ( not meaning a word of it ) " :haha:
Even next week with the Germans - pressure will be off for 'The big Day' shite that we do every year....

ps I will miss Christmas morning 'Santa' ..... that we've done, the 4 of us, for over 40 years.
Fire lighting - breakfast on.

Zactly!!! Well this is the first year since forever we'll have a legit Santa morning...Tilly is 5 so now understands completely!! We've had her in the house previously but she was too small...and the others were with their mammys and daddy's.

Trying on clothes I haven't worn in nigh on a year...holding my breath but yup..they went on yay!! And I've packed the trakkie bottoms (grow bags) for after the dinner!!!

Afternoon everyone

Just back from doing the airport run. ‘‘Twas just lovely to see between decorations, music, families hugging etc especially after the past few years. Daughter home, flight bang on time.

I had a cat and dog Miele years ago and was brilliant. Got a Dyson after it and it was the greatest piece of crap ever. Spent so much on it kept it far longer than I should have. Back to Miele again. I do have little robot one that I use for my room. Poor thing could not cope with the amount of dog hair in this house at the moment.

Hectic morning and loads to do so better get a move on.

Bet you're delighted to have her home! I've never owned a Miele for anything actually -- no machines... but the difference between my older Dyson and this one is literally like chalk and cheese so I'm happy enough -- but they are way over priced.... wasn't he the lad who was all for Brexit but then left Britain when it got through!?

C'mere -- bit of a conundrum -- as you all know I've had a row with my 2 sisters for many years --- we don't speak -- or we didn't --- one still is a nut job but I've been back in touch with d'other one this year -- she lives in Skerries -- her daughter died earlier on this year -- and my sister has had 2 very major illnesses -- she's on chemo now for life -- she's only 12 years older than me but she looks and sounds 100.
My dilemma is -- Joe wants me to call into her tomorrow on our way to Jilly's with a gift and a card -- but.... I think it'd throw her at such short notice -- she's very very anxious about everything - and we don't talk freely yet -- it's all a bit -- careful. As I'm writing this I think I will -- but jaysus what if the other sister is there visiting her too!!! Can't go any of the other days cos it'll be bedlam in Jills.... mmmmmm

Did anyone watch Andrea Bocelli's christmas concert with his family -- only gorgeous

Sorry Molls TOTALLY missed your posts above last night. Waffling on about Dyson v Miele .........
Yes I'd just stay at the door for this first visit - pick the time so you literally only have 2 minutes - "food in the car - Jilly is waiting etc etc" "I'll call again in the New Year"

Apart for being the better person in all this - think how annoying it will be to the mad one ? That you two are reconciled ?
