Life is good thanks for asking Rustop. I do believe personally that in finally kicking the poison it leaves some of us with years of stunted emotional growth. Not facing up to life problems and hiding in the bottom of a bottle is a cop out and such a waste of time. It's not always easy being an adult with having to learn to cope with the slings and arrows that life throws at us but that's what we must. Facing up to the bad crap days without the crutch makes the good ones taste all the sweeter. I am learning.
BTW I was also down at Wicklow town Christmas extravaganza, thought it lovely despite the freezing winds coming off of the sea and the occasional downpour. Fair play to the organisers they have obviously put a lot of effort in and its lovely and Christmassy. Did I mention I love :heartbeat: love Chrimbo?

Waves back! We had our christmas market down here last week - it was very sweet - and bought a few clever things - I've enough decorations gathered over nearly 50 years to do half of Dublin....
I do like/love Christmas -- this year is a bit of a muddle -- I was getting fed up doing it anyway with ne'er a thought of any of them taking over and 'doing' it... so much so that I took this move as a natural break -- but it appears all have different thoughts -- so Adam was coming here -- but we've been persuaded to go to Jilly's - so Adam now going to Jilly's -- her house is TINY -- so yeah -- we'll see..... Simon is still as awkward as feck so leaving him to his own devices -- I'll go up to the boys in Laura's if necessary... and Joey will do what he's told... FECK ALONE KNOWS where everyone will end up!!

Gas Molly, my inlaws just invited us over for Xmas day, an Italian! There's no way my lot would agree to that. My side all coming here, but inlaws have been invited 100 times anyway. FIL won't budge. Fair enough. We will pop into them in the morning.

Up in ardgillian his this morning and it's was only stunning too. The sun shining and everywhere has a sprinkle of white. Then an enormous rainbow appeared to top it all off..

I get what your saying Tabbers. I still find it tricky at this time of year. Well tricky probably isn't the right word, annoying. I'd love to be able to have a normal relationship with drink. It passes as I know it's not an option. Same way as I'd love to be an inch taller. Not happening.
Then I was looking at my skin this morning. Despite it being 7 years older now, it's in much better condition than the dehydrated sad reflection that used to stare back.

Good morning everyone

Baltic out there. Main roads gritted so I left early and made it into work 25 minutes early. It’s having to drive I hate about this weather. Otherwise it’s like a winter wonderland. We picked out our Xmas tree yesterday and it was lovely to see the kids playing in the snow.

Right better go in. Sitting in the car at the moment.

Just a quickie but update on pa-in-law............hard to believe but he's still with us. Still unconscious and to be but polite but he's dying. Our niece pokes her head around the door and chucks a couple of sandwiches at them.
Ma-in-law's in a nursing home and gave my sister-in-law an ear full about being neglected (she's not) so my SIL gave as good as she got. My SIL can be proper scary............think I've said that before.

Mr. JC has nipped into work for today to make a few phone calls then he's back to the vigil with his sister around Pa-in-Law's bed.

Omg just back from a spin on our new Ebikes....it was BRILLIANT....bit nervous at first cos despite the fact Joe and I lived on bikes as young'uns I haven't been on a bike for about 25 years....LOVED it!!!!

The ebikes are a brilliant invention, the adventures your going to have!

The fog was unreal today, pea soup all day. It lifted every now and then and made everything look like a postcard.
Can't beat the fire on these days.

Afternoon everyone

Site seems to have been down all morning, tried a few times and could not get on.

You really are living your best life Molly. Polytunnel and your electric bike, enjoy.

We didn’t really have fog yesterday but got some light snow last night. Not getting out with the dogs last few days and miss my walks. Work will soon be finished for week and I’m not sorry, not nice getting up early to travel in this weather.

Hope all keeping warm and thinking of you JC at this difficult time.

Couldn't get on either & only trying now.

YS went hiking in Wicklow with a pal from Waterford on Friday last - not sure I believe that.
Hasn't been back since. Said he can't deal with his Dad & his anger any more.
Dunno where he is staying - he hasn't told me - and I'm not asking again.
I told him when/if he is sober this is his home and he is welcome back.

If I'm honest it's a relief he's not here. But I'm really not sure how to tell his sister. Putting it off as long as I can.

I avoided my work Christmas party on sat. I'd prefer to stick needles in my eyes, but the cold snap gave me a good excuse to miss it.

So I did the Rustop method of cleaning, 1 room at a time.48 hours later, it needs doing again. Whats the plan [MENTION=15758]rustop59[/MENTION]!!

Give up Mary, I have. With 5 dogs running around I looked at it and said feck it, my idea of having it perfect is impossible so if it is good enough that is going to do. I am not stressing. Daughter is going to help put up trees and decorations today and tomorrow and I’ll try and keep it vacuumed and as tidy as is possible. Luckily no visitors just ourselves. Well done on giving the party a miss. We can all do without unnecessary stress.

Poor Satz, you have had enough of it to last a lifetime. It would be nice if he let you know he is ok but you have a right to peace in your own home. Bloody alcohol robs people of so much. Just heard about a cousin yesterday. Only married a year, his brother died of suicide during year and he started drinking to “cope”. Wife has left him and who can blame her.

Hoping to get a walk in this morning. Could really do with it. Am over this cold spell, snow or no snow
