Molls I didn't even know 'till now that there WERE horses :haha:

I hate all the cleaning and starters and cakes and all the surrounding stuff
And yeah same here - going to my sisters so no cleaning to be done this year because of visitors coming Christmas Day !
Just bring starters & desert & Christmas crackers - FFS !!
'Course I forgot I have the Germans next week ...... :egad:

Here here satz and this time of year, this side of Xmas, it brings out the worst in people.
Isn't is just brilliant that we can make decisions, completely free of booze. We will wake up every day this week and next week ready for action.
Hope MrS has a banging hangover :horn:

Got my booster today. Snuck off during the first half as I knew it would be empty, which it was. Covid seems to be picking up again so may as well avoid it.

What sort of cake was it Molly? Have to make one for tomorrow, eldest niece is 21. Think I'll cover it with smarties, drag the last bit of childhood out!

Oiche mhaith.

Good morning everyone

Wish I had somewhere to go for Christmas but have decided good enough will do. Have the two extra doggies for a month. One week over, three to go!

Your 12 degrees is here Satz. So nice to be able to drive my normal route to work and not have to take ice off the car.

Made chocolate biscuit cake Mary, dead easy..

Right off to work. Thankful indeed to have a clear head this week.

@IamMary the 'ol Covid isn't the same animal it once was. Has lost its bite. My Mam has had it 3 times - last time no symptoms at all. It was just by accident they found out. They rested everyone and about 35 had it in the nursing home and never even knew.
We maybe have all had the newest strain and didn't know
Ha - up yer bum Covid-19:welldone:

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

with Smarties on top ?

Morning! Bloody drink...I don't know where you get the patience Benjy...the reason that Joe understood was cos the councillors in Áiseiri took him aside one Wednesday and asked him to turn it on its head. If he had to stop drinking and I still was how would he feel about sitting in the pub listening to shite and waiting while I lowered pint after pint...then going home and smelling drink off me in bed and listening to me snore...told him at the very least he would have to sleep in another room if he went drinking when I got home from treatment...he told me recently that's why he quit (and has never once regretted it btw)

And he was a BIG drinker...loved it..just had more rigid control over it...think the control was maybe slipping a bit tho!

Off to Castlebar today...final bits of shopping ...just a wander really...much nicer shopping down here than Dublin...and even in the chain stores they seem to have different stuff so little stocking fillers can be bought in Penneys etc...definitely warm today!!!

Disaster chez Satz
DD has Covid :egad:
So German homecoming on Thursday is at risk.

THe only light is .... she did an antigen test - which really only shows positive result when you are a few days into the virus.
So if that was the case she could be better by maybe Friday.

Only problem is if her husband gets it - we're all fecked for Christmas day festivities.
I told her we'll pretend the following week is Christmas instead.

Shit ...sent a message when out but its missing...yeah ...Joe was positive for nearly 3 weeks but I tested negative a bit over a week so it's the luck of the draw really...you might end up getting the lovely quiet Christmas Rusters and I fancied!!

Can they not stick on a mask and just come over anyway? Like you said, it's not the same beast.
We've all agreed, there will be no testing done over Xmas, everyone will be there for dinner (maybe we will sit them outside the window in a tent if clearly showing signs of a killer virus!).

Thanks for the cake ideas. Ive done the biscuit cake too many times now, sick of it.. Even did it for my brothers wedding. My dad's celiac so need special biscuits too. Just did a chocolate sponge with a ganache.. all gluten free which is a pain in the arse!
I hate GF flour so usually do a flourless or almond cake or something with fruit in It.
I could babble on here about GF cakes all day :haha:

Havnt been to castlebar in years, hope you had a lovely day Molly.

2 dogs Rustop, you're a Saint!

IamMary. She is sick with it I'm afraid.
The same lady winds down every Christmas & then gets sick.

YS has just text me asking to come home - he said he is living a half-life and wants to be normal.
I told him to make appointment with doctor & he could be ok by Christmas.
But the rules re. drinking still apply here.

So apart from me being childless for Christmas '22 all good Chez Satz ........
Off to get my nails done later- well - life must go on.
We all make our own choices in life . Be it DD sitting in a crowded room at work with no mask or YS drinking despite knowing the consequences.

Let's really hope it is! Seems to be some sort of sense in his head!
Ach enjoy your childless Christmas...think I'm disappearing abroad next year....now must start making stuffing and gravy etc...all going in freezer...heading to Dublin Friday.

Good morning everyone

They say everything happens for a reason. Maybe you are meant to have a quiet Xmas to recharge the batteries Satz. I am glad he made contact, know what a worry it must be for you. We could all be in the same boat regarding Covid but at this stage, like Mary just getting on with it.

Last day at work, have a lunch with them tomorrow and then off until January. Hope you are ok JC, also Starty. By this day next week will all be over.

Afternoon from the doom house and apologies for being sporadic.
Mr JC and his sister went to see the funeral people and Pa-in-Law's funeral is 5th January. What with Christmas and New Year the cremation place is a bit busy. It won't be open Christmas Day, Boxing Day (Saint Stephen's Day in your place) or New Year's Day. If I'm honest I don't think Ma-in-Law will be following him within weeks. We went to see her on Sunday and she's a shadow of herself and awfully frail. She's in a lovely nursing home and we can visit any time.
That was the doom.

Just had my nails done and we're going to to Jenny's for Christmas dinner. She didn't half make a fuss about them not having enough room and I bounced back and said we've had up to 14 most Christmas for donkey's years. Fair enough as its only a small one bed roomed bungalow but we'll squeeze in. With her and Ads being just a two hour drive we can come back the same day. People sitting on garden chairs and one year borrowed chairs from next door.
We've got three little fake Christmas trees up.........couldn't be arsed with the big one. Mr. JC has gone back to work for a whole two and a half days, then he's off until 2nd January. They close over the festive season but he'll be popping in to get some of his backlog sorted.

Best Sunday for a while ..............had our little Alfie on my knee for ages....he's now 6 months old......fair enough I came home covered in mashed carrot. He is just adorable. :heartbeat:
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Such a long time to leave a funeral..we usually have ours within 3 days of a death..what will you do with MIL Christmas day?

Love babies at that age..Bobby is hilarious too he's just like Joey was just never ending smiling...jilly is having the whole shebang down for Christmas lunch ..it'll be crushed but should be fun.

Got the grub started so no one will be hungry anyways! Rough day down here..fierce windy and sleety so nice big fire blazing and nice dinner on!
