Re: 2023!!! Jan Army thread
Vet just left now...some sort of a terrier had a go at Max when Joe was walking him earlier..Max was on his lead..the other dog wasn't and vet reckons the dog bit him...Joe did say he gave a bit of a bark when they 'met' but was fine afterwards..but his paw all swelled up this evening and started bleeding front and back...he's dosed with drugs now tho and seems pretty happy...it was HORRIBLE...Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: 2023!!! Jan Army thread
Good morning everyone
Fingers crossed he will be ok. One of ours got mauled a few months ago and it was horrendous. Poor hubby is not the better of it. That’s why I go out so early when I have all the dogs. Less likelihood of meeting other dogs. At the end of the day they are animals and have their own codes. Lord knows what sets them off.
Right work today and it was very frosty last night so better get my ass in gear. Catch you all later.

But as Rusters says who knows what messages are being passed between dogs when they meet.
Rosie has 2 dogs she hates for no apparent reason. Angry mad barking I was surprised at.
Others she'll meet, go nose to nose & then just chase and play. Who know?
Because Max was at a disadvantage being on his lead - I'd be out looking for the owner to pay vet bill. Not fair.Last edited by satz123; January 3, 2023, 03:40 AM.

Max has a rather patronising way of dealing with small angry dogs..he languidly places his paw gently on the heads as if to say ' go away you little troublemaker' ..think it may have backfired on him! Joe said it was sort of chaos so didn't notice it happening...anyway he's drowsy as fuck...still just lying around on his bed in kit hen but vet says he should liven up later today...
Hope you having a good day at work Rusters thanks both of you for support xxContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: 2023!!! Jan Army thread
Good morning everyone
How is Max this morning? Looks like it is just us few keeping the army open for business. When is the funeral JC? Glad ma-in-law likes her new nursing home.
Work week was short, felt like I should be going in this morning. No electricity earlier due to the wind and my friend still does not have it so walk delayed. Hopefully the crowds will have disappeared from the woods, all gone back to work.
Going to gradually put away the decorations over the next few days. Was exhausted yesterday, did not get any rest over the holidays. Love that spring is around the corner.

Yep the Auld Stretch in the Evening was 16 minutes yesterday :yay:
Ah delighted to hear about young Max - they are just wonderful the way they bounce back.
Yes...me and thee and a sprinkle of Benjy....doing the shout out to all!!!!!
If we all just read - didn't bother 'cos we've nothing exciting to say - there would be no Army. No MWO.
@rustop59 I will the de-decoration of the house your way. Bit by bit - instead of going at it bull-headed a la MrS.Last edited by satz123; January 4, 2023, 09:04 AM.

Re: 2023!!! Jan Army thread
Hi all
Sorry been MIA. Been a bit mental lately with one thing or another.
Went to Mr S parents for new year. MIL said to him "Well you dont look ill?" Horrifying :haha: lucky he has a good sense of humour!
The GP texted him today to say they want to talk to him about his recent cancer diagnosis. So stark but guess its good that they are taking an interest.
In other news, we won £725 on the premium bonds this morning which was a lovely start to the day!
So sorry about Max Molls. Its a nightmare when they are hurt especially when another dog caused it. It sounds like he is bouncing back which is great. Hope the twat that had their dog off learns a lesson. My boy has been in the vets, he is a sighthound with amazing long legs and loves zoomies. Anyway he managed to rupture his thigh muscle so in and out of the vets recently. We have decided that he is not allowed to chase balls anymore which is a massive sadness as he loves doing that. Trouble is he's not young and we cant keep risking injury.
I didnt bother with decs this year. If I had they would've been gone by Boxing Day!

There you are Starts...yeah Max is A1 again today...the resilience of youth :welldone:
No walking or playing ball today so he was manic but give me that any day over the last 2 days..it really was sad and he looked like he couldn't understand why we couldn't fix him!
MIL sounds somewhat lacking in tact...jeez!
Anyway it is good that the GP is paying attention so yeah...I spose they see so much illness they don't pussyfoot around it but it can be stark...bless you both ...you're having a rough time..not going to solve anything but it's lovely to hear of someone winning who deserves it...are ya going to do anything nice with the loot?
Bad form here today so going to go to bed lovely and early and end the day...had enough of it!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: 2023!!! Jan Army thread
Evening
Everyone is actually in bed right now, which is just shocking! Schools back tomorrow.
I was working today, so hardly slept last night. Ridiculous as nothing major going on for a few weeks.
Delighted to hear your max bounced back. Was that other dog/owner a local or randomers?
Congratulations starty, what a lovely surprise, you deserve that. Isn't it funny how different people deal with stress, your MiL is clearly hoping someone has misdiagnosed.
Back to the daughters NYs night. No, we were all expecting the rest of them to have a small bit of drink on them, but not a sniff or slur out of thrm (they havnt recovered from their 1st taste of it about 18 months ago). So just this lassie drinking on her lonesome. She's 15.
New washing machine arrives tomorrow and I will finally say goodbye to my 19 Yr old, noisy but still hanging in there machine!
Its hot all the Bells and whistles, I expect it will make the dinner too..
Night all xAF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: 2023!!! Jan Army thread
Wow I have been having some trouble getting logged back in but it is so great to see so many familiar usernames in here it's like home - few of you hopefully remember me, formerly InChains aka Inchy, I'm coming back older (two weeks out from 30, wow I was young when I first met you guys), hopefully wiser, and ready to give this whole thing a fair try. I will catch up on how everyone's been in the morning, I am up far later than I should be but after two days of battling registration issues just needed to say hi, I've missed you guysThey/He
