Re: February Army Thread

Toenails are useles. And I'm too lazy to paint my fingernails, I wish that fashion would expire.
Satz, the skin gets hard and it's fine, just looks a bit bald. Then the new nail starts to grow back, often badly and bumpy and thick. That's when the homeless look kicks in and the chiropodist is called. Think they are the same Rustop, im not sure!
3 year degree course in galway apparently, then they specialise.

I'd say you've seen it all Inchy! Well, certainly from that man!

Don't remember that story either Molls!

I need to replace 4 sets of roman blinds. I'm just can't figure out a shade. Blind jealous I am now..

I got those sticky nails as my toes are manky (too many horses stepping on them and too much running) anyhoo, the dog stood on my toe and ripped the falsie off complete with manky nail underneath :haha:

Some good news! Mr S CT scan was clear and the lovely lovely consultant told us his number were great, not to focus on them and to enjoy life! He will still be monitored every 3 but its such a relief! Oh and his bowel biopsy was clear too! All this yesterday He still needs to have one big polyp removed and might need a part of the bowel removing but at least they are not cancerous! So to celebrate we are having our garden done

Me too, lovely news to wake up to. Have garden envy, that’s on my list too. Don’t remember that story either Molly, fill us in.

Just back from my walk. Took the dogs down by the river for a change and the birds were singing, was really uplifting, Spring is definitely on the way.

Going to meet another friend for a walk in a few minutes. Will get my steps in today.

Morning,
starty.....................I shall do a happy dance for you both.

Just had a man that can from a curtain supplier and we've ordered some.

Mr JC off this aftie to a friend's 60th so better warn you he snores so loudly after a few drinks I reckon they could hear them on the moon so don't worry if you hear any strange noises.

Its all coming together as we're booked a holiday at our favourite place in Yorkshire in May.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening all,

Feeling better today than I have for a while, I've been finding some positive media to engage with around recovery and that's been helpful, I've been working hard on my project and making the most of the day.

Starty - fantastic news for you and Mr.S - so happy for you

That is so good to hear Inchy (Batty) = I knew you were a fighter.

And I especially admire you for coming back here straight away even though you had relapsed. Not easy to do and is 'the rock most perish on'.
Agreed...I used to skulking off and (ironically!!) even blame the folk on here for the fact I drank....lunacy!!

Haha...Keith Moon....deffo an overrated story but anyway...I was in boarding school doing what was then the inter cert. sort of O levels ..used to do them when we were about 14...anyway there were only a few of us still in the dormitory cos all the other boarders had gone home.
Next thing there were loud voices and laughing..bout 10pm...and a man's voice....unknown in girls boarding school at that hour and especially in the dormitory!! Next thing the curtain to my cell opened with a whoosh and this mad looking lad was standing there and he launched himself onto the bed...it was hilarious...the nuns were flapping around but didn't know what to do...he was so funny...it probably looked very inappropriate but it certainly wasn't....
Apparently his then wife/partner went to my school when she was young and my cell was where she slept so he thought this would be fun...and it was...CHAOS everywhere that night!.
He got us all up then and the nuns were completely star struck (in hindsight it amazed me that they knew who he was)...we went down to the orchestra hall and he played the drums for us...he got any of us who played instruments playing something with him...it was so much fun and he was just lovely...mad as a bag of frogs and definitely high as a kite...he promised the school a set of drums which were there when we went back to school in Sept.

So that was the night I was in bed with Keith Moon:victorious:
I have upped it to 'the night I SLEPT with Keith Moon' when needed to impress further ;-)

And why not............he was always my favourite. Mad as hatter.

Mr JC saw them when he was 16 and as his mother is a right snob made him wear his suit as he was going to a 'concert'................. Luckily he'd put his jeans and a t-shirt in his back pack.

I was actually up early but I've just cleared out my e-mails. It was absolutely full of junk. Gawd you buy something on-line and they (whoever 'they' are) think you might be interested by something that has no resemblance to what you bought in the first place.

Ne/Neva Eva..........don't be a stranger.

Lol Molls thats a bloody brilliant story!

Been for a couple of walks this morning and covered just over 7 miles so not too shabby. The weather is gorgeous too. Bit chilly but lovely to come home to a cup of steaming coffee. Not doing a lot for the rest of the day. Just chilling I think and might message the garden man

Afternoon everyone

Great story Molly, thanks for sharing. Those emails are a pain JC. Every so often I go into them and press unsubscribe at the end. Works for a while until the next lot start arriving.

Beautiful frosty sunny morning here too Starty. Climbed a mountain again. Meant to be doing Snowden in April hence my newfound enthusiasm.

Bank holiday tomorrow and I’m appreciating not having to get up for work already.

Evening all,

Mixed bag of a day, riding the positivity wave mostly but the depression hit pretty bad in the afternoon, just like a switch being flipped, amping up my dysphoria as well (for those who aren't familiar its the feeling a lot of trans people get from being in the wrong body, kind of a mess of depression, self loathing anxiety and general discomfort - don't recommend it haha). Three years is suddenly seeming a long time to wait for a doctor and a very short time in which to get my work done. Still working hard on the project though, doing some art in my study breaks, generally making progress.

Molly - awesome story, I want to tell a friend of mine about it but I have to wait til a suitable opportunity when I can claim its the tale of a 'work friend' haha.

JC - when I get bored at work I clear out my inbox, soon fills up again though, half of its rubbish from my uni as well haha.

Rustop - sounds a nice way to spend the morning, don't reckon I'll be making it up any mountains any time soon, I'll stick to a gentle incline haha

Thanks for sharing Inchy. I don't know anyone trans (yet), so I'm still learning. Read a good novel recently, Mad Honey, which, although a murder mystery, It was also about a trans woman (and bees :happy2, gave some good insights. It must he v v difficult.

What a story Molly :welldone: what a memory!!

starty, I am so delighted to hear about Mr S. Holy smoke, you must be doing cartwheels! Fellow toeless one.

You have me thinking about shutters now Satz.... we have a sort of new England trim around all the windows (himself spent way too much time in America ), but I'll have a mooch on pinterest.
