Re: April Army Assembly
7 weeks already, I know your still holding your breath Satz but that's a great start. Nice to have your boy back.
Great to hear you got good results starty.. a relief..
Hope its routine for your daughter Rustop. Funny that she wouldn't tell you!
No results here yet. Just more tests. Symptoms are loss of balance a few times a day. Dizziness. Slow processing and hard to find the word or articulate sometimes. No tremor and no memory issues. Feels like parkinson's to me, but what do I know. Oh, he used to have amazing handwriting, used fountain pens etc. That's deteriorated too.
Nothing turned up on tests so far, so more to do now..
It's really frustrating. Work are pulling the plug now so finances will take a severe hit on top of everything else. I'm sticking my head in the sand about that for now.
Getting the young fell driving ASAP too, as Mr M can't really these days.
So that's where I'm at!!
Imagine if I was using 2 bottles of wine a night to cope with this!!!AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: April Army Assembly
Oh Mary I am sorry. That really does sound scary for you both. Notwithstanding the financial insecurity. How is Mr M coping with the uncertainty health wise? I really hope that the next lot of tests are done promptly and you are in a position to have some answers. Is there anything they have suggested in the meantime or is it a case of just get on with it till we know more?
Like you, I am so glad that I am not in the grips of addiction to deal with this. It would make it a million times worse. I am also very relieved that my Mr S is not battling his demons either as if he was, again, we would be in a much worse position.
Not sure what sickness benefits you have over there or what provisions the company have but do hope it gives a bit of security for you all.
Satz thats amazing he has done 7 weeks. Does he feel more secure in his sobriety or is it still early days for him? Remember the 3 months, 6 months times are fragile for many for some reason. Might be worth reminding him that there may be tricky times ahead and to be prepared. Its fantastic he has a sponsor.

Re: April Army Assembly
Such a lot going on for everyone...sending hugs all round....deffo trumps my hay-fever sneezing ...can't believe I've been moaning.
I agree that the 6 month monitoring must take some of the worry Rusters...whereas I was delighted when the docs said Joe didn't need regular check ups anymore I was glad he was well enough for that but sort of felt the weight of responsibility shift back to me. Please god she'll be grand xx
Do you still think it could be long covid Mary? Woman I worked with had that and she was in a really bad way for nigh on 2 years...she's getting herself back now tho ....dunno much about Parkinsons....really hope they find something relatively inconsequential hugs to you too xx

Re: April Army Assembly
Hello all. Light and prayer out to Mary, Rusty, Starty and all in need. Life can be challenging at times, but I maintain that it is good. Well, it appears that the radiation did not get all the cancer per lab results markers. Next step is another PSMA PET scan. We are still over near Stanford and will spend the day with granddaughter then home tomorrow. I am ok with this as I realize it is healthier to accept what is. They offered me counseling but I told them I would take a rain check. I want to leave that avenue open. Blessings xOutside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

Re: April Army Assembly
Techie I am sorry about your news. Its understandable to want to hold off on the counselling. You have a great attitude and you sound strong in your decisions. I admire that.
We are off to Norfolk today. I am looking forward to the downtime and peace. My back is playing up again which is annoying but I think the chill out and some walking in new places will do us all the world of good.
Big hugs to all that need it

Re: April Army Assembly
Good morning everyone
I am sorry too about your news Techie. If you need to unload the army is here. Enjoy your day in Norfolk Starty. A change is as good as a rest. Hope the back eases.
Nothing much planned here. Himself is away so might get a bit of painting done. Going out to dinner this evening to a new restaurant that has opened. Nice not having to cook.

Re: April Army Assembly
Morning.
Hope your having a lovely few days chilling starty..
techie, sorry to hear the results were not as you hoped. When do you get the PET scan? Your trip will be a welcome distraction too.
And Rustop, I think you did mention your that about your daughter a long time ago. Your right, once she's in the system it's good, continuous monitoring. How was dinner last night?
We had a spa day for my buddy's 50th. Remember the place you stayed when you were here starty?
Super value. Light lunch and a 1 hour treatment (or 2 small), hang out in the pool etc for €99. There's an overnight package too.
Did it last year with my sister, mam and daughters too..
Then dinner in malahide. Lovely.
They are all dying now and wishing they were me :haha:
Thanks v v much for the kind words. Might not be parkinson's at all, will just have to wait and see. Tbh, I'd prefer it over lots of alternatives.
Unfortunately satz123, his company don't offer Income protection, despite being one of the biggest drinks company in the world's possibly (well maybe not world but they are big).
Full day today, middle daughter has her big dance show. I'm wrecked already and havnt got out of bed! Late one but lots of good chats..AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Nothing suggested either starty, just not to consider going back to work and wait and see..
Lovely limbo. Few of us here in the same position.
The long covid suggestion is being dismissed now too Molly. Probably because symptoms have got a bit worse. Not massively though, but they havnt improved.Last edited by IamMary; April 22, 2023, 03:50 AM.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:
