Joe is the opposite...spends his life trying to convince me to go out anywhere. He wanted to go to a charity drag night last night but thankfully was too tired after hiking half of Mayo with Max!

Hi folks. Heading home today. Really had an enjoyable time with the granddaughter. I feel strong and positive. So, I am good with the situation. I will be taking good care of myself emotionally, physically m, and spiritually. Of course, I will add a bit of craziness as I plan on doing another extreme hike in The Sierras with some friends. The snow is still an issue but we are starting to get some melt. Praying for all in need. Blessings and I am grateful for your support xoxo

Good morning everyone

Glad you are ok with diagnosis Techie and got to spend time with your granddaughter. Enjoy the communion Molly. Hard to believe it is that time of year.

Just climbed local mountain and there was snow on top! Doing Snowden next weekend so wanted to get a climb in. Feet up now with audio book.

Omg...Snowden! Still more than impressed!

Love my audiobooks Rusters...Read the Wheel of Time books a long time ago so decided to re-read them now...but had forgotten how many twists and turns and characters there are..so I've put them on audio as well and re-listening at night....it's comfortable cos I know the main story line etc. but I'm picking up on bits I've missed...loving it!
What are you listening to?

I've just finished Paper Cup by Karen Campbell. It's on audible, borrow box. I was sorry when it ended!! Great story (alcoholic woman who became homeless) and beautifully written.

Well done techie. We might have a new phrase now, when you push yourself out there, despite circumstances, your 'doing a Techie'

Fair play Rustop, Snowden!! Are a few of you doing it?

Run and shopping done. Beautiful day out there..

Oh bless you all. Great beautiful morning here in The Sierras. I’ve always said, if you don’t believe in God, spend a day here. It will change your thinking. Off on a long walk with Mrs Techie. Have a lovely rest of your day.

Just reading back, I see some recommendations for books. Personally I’ve never listened to an audiobook nor used a kindle, despite my being offered one for free. Guess I’m just old school, love the feel and smell of a real book. Now speaking of recommendations I have recently finished one of the most beautiful and amazing books I have ever read and that’s saying something for I read a heck of a lot. You know one of those books that you instantly know that will end up years later dog eared on your bookshelf because you have reread it so often? ‘Seed to dust’ by Marc Hamer, I loved it.

Must put it on the 'to be read' list Tabbers....about 2 years before I retired the wonderful intelligent book loving hierarchy in our libraries decided couches and computers were far more important than books so eliminated stacks and stacks of wonderful books....so I have literally a room full of books ( I knew I was retiring soon so.....) so yes I too love the real thing....however I absolutely believe kindles and audio have their place...on holiday...at night with moaning hubbie bout the light on...so many situations my little paperwhite slips in my bag so I always have my 'fix'!

Morning all!

Thanks for the book recommendations. I love the real thing too and it?s a real treat to have a book but I find BorrowBox fantastic. No running back to the library and no stacks of books for re cycling.

Dreadful morning here. Did get a walk in but came back soaked. Work today and I officially begin my double jobbing (somebody left and not being replaced). I?ll do what I can, can?t do any more.

Hope they paying you for it? I was only 6 months in libraries when my senior manager had a breakdown ...there was a recruitment embargo at the time so I had to do her job for ages...wasn't a bit fair really.

Gorgeous over here in the wesht....Frost forecast tonight tho so anyone with plants out...put a lid on them!

Hi everyone. Off to golf. We had a wonderful two hour walk yesterday amongst the wildflowers. BTW, Where The Forest Meets The Stars by Glendy Vanderah is the best novel I have read since Crawdads. I highly recommend it. In fact, I am so excited about it, I may do another pass. I have not done that since reading The Shadow Of The Wind. Have a beautiful day. Blessings x

P.S. I have a kindle full of books. I just look at it. The kindle not the content. I love holding a book and turning the page and just can’t quite warm up to e-reader.
