Re: April Army Assembly

Can you set up a standing order Molls rather than a DD? I know there can be some confusion if you've already got a DD set up for some companies although no idea what LPT is .

So sorry to hear about Max. What's up?

We had a trauma yesterday with Fen. He was running then suddenly pulled up. He had impaled his paw with a little stick. Arse end of nowhere and me and my friend had to carry him to nearest road, then call Mr S to come pick us up. He's not a small dog either. A lurcher of around 26kg and very long legs so not the easiest to carry. This was about 7am so no vets open. Got him to vet about 8.30 and he wouldn't let them near his foot so had to have anaesthetic to have said twig removed. It was traumatic and I am feeling about 110 years old today and good for nothing. Just had a lunchtime nap and still all over the place.

Oh poor Fen - that sounds like when the wee yappy dog bit Max's foot -- 35kg trying to lift him into a car! What's wrong with Max -- good question -- he's manifesting all the symptoms of the last debacle where he ate the rubbery things -- can't lie down, won't eat or drink, tensed so much he's shaking, and on and on and on.... he's with the vet right now so he's going to x-ray him and do bloods -- of course the x-ray didn't show up the last ingested things -- weren't spotted till they did an ultrasound... it's truly endless -- and he's been in GREAT form -- woke up to this this morning (he was awake during the night but we thought he just had the trots)... so... here we go again! it's so sad to see him tho--- he's attached himself to one or other of us and won't move...

Laughing at myself re. the dd.... it IS a standing order --after 25 years working in a bank -- I always say dd as shorthand!

LPT is local property tax -- it's not very much but they're getting thick about it and as we are (supposed) to be going on hols next Wed I didn't feel like forking out a load... anyway I've calmed down and sent enquiries galore to Revenue -- they can mull over that for a while ;-) I don't think ANY company should be allowed put up a website unless it's fully functional -- especially Revenue -- nonsense!
Hope Fen is okay -- our fella is getting an anaesthetic too -- unfortunately it's the male vet - only one available - and he doesn't like men anywhere near him!

That sounds a bit like pancreatitis Molls. Very painful and managed by diet usually. I hope you get some answers very quickly!

Sounds bad Starty but tbh I'd be delighted if it was pancreatitis...foreign objects seem to be Max's preference...if he hadn't had the gvd previously and then 2 bouts of edibles (non)...I'd be thinking some sort of stomachy ailment...but it's never simple!

Good morning

Hope Max ok? So upsetting after what you have just been through with him. My SIL is here at the moment. Daughter removed a growth from one of her dogs. Full time job to keep her calm and not running and jumping around with the others.

Off to do stuff with ponies and then heading west. Will check in later.

Afternoon,
Long weekend is coming.
Aah Molls, dogs creep into our hearts, I hope its something he's eaten he shouldn't have.
Touch wood that Mikey just leaves hair everywhere when he's not eating bees which will be coming soon.
Meeting an friend for coffee tomorrow.............she's the sister of my pal that died of alcoholism........all his body just shut down. His other sisters washed their hands of him but she didn't. He was only 50 and I miss him even now but stayed in touch with her.

Off to York on Sunday as we're going for Easter Sunday dinner. Belief it or not she's just back from Dublin.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

So sorry. Where the heck is he finding this stuff. Did previous owner have grandkids over and maybe not clean up stuff they left in garden and it got buried and he is digging it up? One of ours is obsessed with tennis balls and used to go up to neighbours garden who had tennis court. She would dig up balls and bring them home. Filthy things, half rotten but luckily she did not eat them.

Got west ok. Had bright sunshine, hail/sleet en route. Big fella rolled in Lord only knows what do he has had two swims. Tired him out so all snoozing now in front of fire.

Jenny mac, there's a lot of trauma going in with the doggies!! Hope fen and max are on the mend.

My 4 year old doctor (well, he could be 11, hard to tell) also wanted full bloods on me. Iron very low he says, so I've to get scopes up and scopes down. Lovely.

Finished work until Tuesday. We just drove home from IKEA with wardrobes (well, eventually they will be) hanging 2 feet out the back of the car with the boot open.. The stress. We made Mr Bean look good.

I remember Mario on here. RiP. Sad ending for him.

Hey, IamMary I used to run a celiac disease support group. For a few members, the only presenting symptom was low iron. It might be something to consider if the scopes don't reveal anything. Hope you find a quick, easy-to-fix answer.

Molly, I am so sorry about Max (and your cancelled trip). Our dog also eats everything imaginable. Fabric and paper are her favorite non-food items but she has downed wood, weird plastic stuff, etc. too. We don't have pet insurance so her surgery for impacted bowels at 4 months pretty much tripled her original price. I sure hope Max recovers more easily this time.

Hi, other Army members

Thinking of all the furry family members. I was low iron on my last labs. Doctors said it was likely due to all the ibuprofen (NSAIDS) I was taking during radiation. They had me taking 600mg 3/day to lower inflammation. Even lower doses can lower iron in the blood!
