Re: April Army Assembly

Happy Easter Army. Staying home as granddaughter is ill. Cold most likely. So, I have to scramble to plan an Easter dinner. Mrs Techie coming up with ideas. I just want to go out to dinner. We shall see. So, now that plans have changed I’m heading out for a 20k run with my wife. We are both looking to do one last ultra. Putting in the time and roadwork is the challenge. She said no more as she was severely depleted in 2019 Utah race, but I think she is in better condition currently. Have a wonderful blessed Happy Easter xoxo

Well done you techie. Didn't realise your wife was a runner too, usually there's only room for one selfish 'runhole' (as we call ourselves), in a family!!

Happy Easter! We were done with the big meal early so went to see my daughters friends GAA match (shes on the dublin team, so big deal). Freezing. Then went home and had a nap! Can't remember the last time I did that

Great to hear the furry guys are bouncing back.
Lots of treats for you Molly... these things happen but you've a great attitude, onwards (with treats).

Sick of chocolate.

Aww that's shite Satz. How old is she? I was embarrassed by my mum when I was a teenager, well I was embarrassed about everything really. If she is moving nearby you, it will be tricky if she doesn't want you to be yourselves. Has the husband met YS? Is she OK with that?

Back to work today after a really busy weekend. It was lovely, but with all the socialising I feel exhausted. Brothers Sat, walk with friend Sun morning and friends round Sunday arvo. Doesnt sound much but its a lot for us! Plus I ate nothing but sweet stuff and rubbish so lots of water for me today along with peace and quiet :haha:

They are house hunting and the prices are ridiculous anywhere within Dublin / Kildare.
€615,000 for a 4 bed semi detached in Maynooth and they have provisionally booked it. Went to see it on Friday - it's lovely - worth that ? NO !

RANT ALERT
DD really started getting on my nerves. "Don't say this" "don't say that". We have to be happy clappy families when the hubby is about. He is lovely but she says he is not used to how brash we can be.
FFS .... he loves the banter but she seems embarrassed by it AND us. Told me he loves spending time with us. He actually booked for Greece again with us as soon as we got home last September.

Anyhoo Rosie came with us - the house is still being built and filthy & the area is building site. With workmen in & out.
She went mental when MrS brought little Rosie in while she was "having a serious conversation" with the estate agent.

I retorted with she should not have brought us to see the feckin' house if we were an embarrassment. I was fuming inside.
Snotty mare.
Crikey....maybe persuade her to buy further afield...I was years with all my sprogs on my doorstep and I think there's nothing like a bit of a polite distance (or not too polite...couple hours suits me just fine!)

Morning all...lovely morning...need to make a plan for the day...

It is BH over here Molls, but my company opens weekends and BHs so I work 10 - 4 we get extra days off another time. Mr S is also working so its OK really. Plus its raining so not too fussed. I would be if it was lovely though!

Yep Satz, being nice for a long time in a row is damn tough :haha:

Hope you survive work today starty. Feel the same, tired today, but not working and I've very little planned. Bringing my son for his first proper driving lesson! Our friends have a nursery up the road with lots of space, so we should be safe!

Are you both similar in personality satz123? Right now, you've loads going on, your brother, YS anxiety, work. Shes the stress of the house and maybe other stuff too, so your going to get on each others nerves. It will pass. Grin and bare for this trip but maybe set some expectations, in the nicest possible way, next time, before she travells and the stress mounts.
I'm 12 mins in the car from my folks and it's perfect. Close enough, but not too close. She's moving close for a reason, we want to be near our mammies. :heartbeat:

Afternoon,
Got back late from York...............our Jenny can't half cook. Fabulous meal (of course I'm going to take the kudos) as they both learnt to cook from their mammy's and the Bero-Book knee.

Mr. JC 's obviously bored having four days off as he's ironing his own shirts.

I miss my children but god forbid they lived near the doorstep.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Afternoon all

Mixed blessing having them living with you. I’ve ended up with one who was only meant to be staying 6 months and she’s still here 4 years later! Hubby says we will need a jcb to get her out. Mind you if it were her sister I would have killed her by now, we just rub off each other the wrong way. Thank God she’s living in Norway.

Mayo has been great. Down here all Easter, both of us pottering about, no stress, no cooking big meals. Great little get away. Taking tomorrow off work so not travelling back until then. Think them having to take the mandatory driving lessons is a great thing. Good luck with being the front seat passenger Mary.

Good morning all

Doggies walked, lovely mild morning. It was beautiful up in the woods. Just packing up here and going to hit the road soon. Hopefully I will miss all the traffic.

Good morning friends. Run finished. Great round of golf yesterday. I’m off soon to do a crypto currency deal that should net me about $20k by this afternoon. I am anxious and a bit nervous about taking five thousand dollars to a bitcoin atm in the next town. The area is sketchy to begin with. I may take the bear pepper spray I use on trail runs, haha. In fact, per Mrs Techie, I will take the bear pepper spray. I will report the results later today. In the meantime, have a wonderful rest of your day. Blessings x

Bear pepper spray and 20k crypto deals, you could be on another planet techie :biglaugh:
Lashed all day. I was exhausted, crap sleep, so wallowed in it! Fires lit now (Mr S delighted with the excuse) so I'm thawing, metaphorically speaking.

Try not to dwell on you DD Satz. You could probably have the same conversation another day with a completely different reaction. Stress makes us all slightly bonkers (wasn't that the name of your one in wonderly wagon @ the Irish lot..)
How's YS doing now?

Hope you got home safely Rustop.

Morning all,

Techie I am so sorry this happened to you. However, even your description of what you were doing yesterday sounded dodgy. I didnt say anything at the time but it seemed you felt that too just by what you had written? Unfortunately amazing deals are rarely so.

Sorry DD is being a pain Satz. Mothers and daughters are renowned for tricky relationships. I know mine was!

Morning

You are right Starty, they are tricky and daughters can be a pain, they seem to hit out at their mothers the worst. I know from talking to friends they are all the same. Sorry you are going through it Satz. I remember Wanderly Wagon, about the only kids tv there was in those days. What did the Lamberts do?

Also sorry about what happened to you Techie. I don’t know enough about bitcoin but am very wary of it. Take care of yourself and don’t beat yourself up.

Waves to everyone else. We had sleet and snow this morning!
