That depends on who you are Kev. Some people do the same thing over and over again despite bad results. Some people say never again and stick with it. I think it probably has a lot to do with your drive to drink and the reasons behind it.

Exactly. In my binge drinking days, even though a really bad hangover could make the thought of Al disgusting, I never really said "never again". But when I finally did, I quit and haven't had a drink since (over 1.5 years now). You have to really want it and be determined, it can't just be a whimsical in the moment fancy brought on by a hangover.

Spot on and well done on 1.5 years Mulberry! Drinking has to have an impact on your life before being ready to tackle it. Thats why they talk about rock bottom although I am not keen on that because everyone's "bottom" is different and often we cannot help but compare ourselves to others which is really unhelpful

I would say that every day after drinking and in the past I would forget it within a week. When on that fateful day I nearly fell asleep at the memorial service I said never again and this time meant it.

3 years sober and I will get back to where I was by taking it ODAAT

I haven?t had a drink in 13+ years. I say never again almost daily. It keeps me aware of how we all live on the edge!
