Re: How do people virtual live in the pub but don't die

Kev has said that he can change his job but chooses to work in a bar. I also get the impression that Kev is not a social drinker.

Kev, riddle me this. Do you actually think you have a problem and want to quit drinking? Curious because you've been here a long time but seem to want to justify your drinking. BTW, if thats it, then its fine as everyone is welcome here. However, there are probably easier routes than a forum for alkies to get the affirmation you seem to be looking for

Am I right ?
In a way it's a good thing I think, for you to see them slowly descend into the pit. Is that what you want for your future?
They lead such sad lives. Drinking all day or working & then drinking all evening.
They talk away - life and soul of the party - they know everything but next morning they won't even remember what half the conversations were about.
You don't see the other side of their lives when they get home. You have a chance to stop now.

With regard to the lad with the beer & switch to cider is because the old saying "Grape or Grain, but Never the Twain' - never mix fruit based drinks mixed with grain based drinks. The reason being you will get drunker - so he does it for exactly that reason. Dunno if there is scientific research done on this but I can personally vouch for it :egad:
My conscious brain knows this but I like the drug alcohol especially if I feel better or want a night out.

Beer can get sickly so sometimes good idea to change to something sweet.

This forum is good to ask questions and learn about experiences. Also tell others my pov and I can't be the only one on here still drinking. Well done to those that are not .

Well, I do not get you at all. You joined in 2014 and continue to drink. There are plenty of resources outside of MWO that address your issues and questions. Mostly what zi see is you making for excuses to drink. In my opinion you do not bring anything to the table here. Maybe I am missing something!?

Well techie. Kev didn't reply to my age question - so I dunno if my theory is right.
But the way MWO is going techie, Kev's thread is a welcome relief to waffle on and get a response of sorts.
Agree, tis!

It's always good to have that first inkling of realizing that drinking is a problem even if you aren't ready to quit, as well as coming on here and getting information and experiences from others. Heck I was in that state for years, and even more years when I had realized it was very serious problem before I was ready to quit; and even though I didn't post much back in the day (different user name) MWO was still a very valuable resource to me.

There are some people who I actually think alcohol is keeping them alive. 94 year old guy who drinks whisky every day . The man above with the shakes.

An old guy who drinks 3 pints of heavy a day then goes home.

Alcohol may well be doing some a favour in an otherwise boring life. The social aspect of the pub.

Not all will go on to develop a problem - but I think think 'shaky guy' already has.
Yes he has ..was in today and getting pissed. He's known as a professional drinker satz.

The 94 year old man should not stop drinking imo.. nothing to lose now. The walk to the pub is probably good for him by itself as good exercise.
