Re: October Army (Clean Slate)
Checking in?
Hi techie.
you've been a stalwart since the beginning. I know you were battling cancer and I hope you're doing well. It makes my heart happy to see.
I am amused and alarmed by the recent drama. I think people forget how awful this place was to share anything, before the new owners took action. And I also think that people don?t know that upgrading this site would cost thousands. And no one makes any money here.
Its a gift that people continue to monitor this site. And, sadly, what we bought is so outdated, its hard to keep up when theres a technical issue. I think you can appreciate that!
I know what grief feels like and I know how to project it into everything else. Seems like something like that might be going on here. Misdirected anger. Or feeling abandoned in a time of need? I get that.
This site is way past it's prime. For those of you who would invest time and money in it, I suggest you contact the Administrator.
For those of us who have given up…
or been a knucklehead…
apologies accepted and let’s move forward.Last edited by Ne/Neva Eva; October 2, 2023, 10:14 PM.

Re: October Army (Clean Slate)
All good here Ne. I think it is sad that this forum is in such diminished state. The last situation demonstrated a lack of leadership. Sometimes in life we need to get past the ego and do the right thing. I always try and opt for the high road. My only hope is that there were lessons learned. Please stop by more often. It’s lonely here XoxoOutside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

Busy day catching up on my work. Mrs Techie writing new book. Cooler weather and big golf tournament on Monday. We play against a nearby club. Should be fun!

Re: October Army (Clean Slate)
Went on a very difficult hike today with two training friends. Mark twisted his ankle and we mostly carried him and his gear about eight miles. This was one of the most technical challenging hikes in the Sierras. I am exhausted but happy the injury was not more serious. He is spending the night in our guest house with his wife and daughter. Life is good. Blessings x
P.S. Miss all you Army folk

Re: October Army (Clean Slate)
Hiya Techie, thought I'd check in with you. It's 83F in sunny Florida today, that's cold by our usual October standards! Just looked up the conversion and it's about 28C.
I'm retired, so my day is at my leisure. I really do need to establish a routine, which is currently sadly lacking. I had to get a tetanus vaccine yesterday, so my left arm is pretty sore now, along with my right arm where I had a growth cut off and biopsied. Results were negative thankfully. Just got the sore arms to deal with!
Been trying to eat plant based the past couple of months. No meat, no dairy, no eggs. My cholesterol has come down 60 points in just a couple months and my doctor is happy. It's just such a big transition. I need to find a way to get used to this so that I can keep eating this way.
I currently have a cat sleeping on my lap, so I'm trapped. I really need to get moving soon. If I check in later and the cat is still on my lap, send help!

Re: October Army (Clean Slate)
Good morning Techie. Had a good sleep last night, just got the cats fed, now working on making a breakfast casserole.
Techie, I saw you mention EFT somewhere on this site. I've tried it a few times but I didn't see results. Is it something that helped you immediately or did you have to do it for a while? Is there someone who taught you or did you read a book about it? Just wondering what source you used when you started. I've only tried it once or twice and didn't notice anything. I was wondering if this is something where you have to stick with it for a few weeks or if your results were immediate.

Re: October Army (Clean Slate)
Hello Fly. Lovely to have you here. BTW, I lived and worked in Florida in the early 90’s. Central Florida but didn’t care for the humidity at all. I am a certified EFT practitioner and have done some work w/Veterans suffering from PTSD. I work recommend Dawson Church. He is widely published and his latest book is called ‘Bliss Brain.’ YouTube should have sone of his EFT stuff. Well, off to dinner with friends. More to follow…
