I am confused about the role of the L-glut and the Amino Acids. I read on a thread a week or so ago that someone (sorry I can't remember who) was having cravings and put some L-glut on their tongue to help curb those cravings immediately. Does this work? How much L-glut is everyone else taking everyday? In my book it says that the L-glut is optional...are alot of you using it? Thanks for any info!!

Hi there. The l-glut under the tongue can help curb your cravings within minutes for me. I don't use the capsules, I bought it in bulk with a little scoop and just put a scoop under my tongue... for me 1 scoop/tsp = 4500mg of l-glut.
Here's one excerpt...Question: In the last week since I started eating low-carb, I've been having bad cravings for sweets. Will these go away? Is there anything I can do to make them go away faster?
Answer: Cravings for sweets happens in the first few weeks of low-carb dieting, and over time, if you abstain from eating sweets, the cravings diminish and/or completely disappear. There is no reason to suffer in the meantime since studies have shown that L-Glutamine effectively suppresses cravings.
Research has shown that L-Glutamine, in a dose of 500 mg four times daily, decreases the craving for alcohol. L-glutamine may stimulate the body's natural hormonal responses to reduce muscle soreness. L-glutamine supports the natural production of growth hormone, which initiates the release of insulin growth factor (IGF-1), which can increase lean muscle mass and bone density while promoting general good health.

Re L-Glut.
I take 1,000 twice a day. (Am and PM).
Not on Topa
Also take GABA and Kudzu at the higher end of the recommended doses. Also taking most of the other recommended supps. Doing OK. On Day 12 Abs.
Have tried abs a few times before. But wasn't taking higher level of Kudzu and 2 daily doses of L-Glut. And didn't get past 1 week on average.
Moderation is not good for me at the moment. I just keep on going so am going abs for a while and will see how it goes.
Still feel like I am going strong. Physical cravings not too bad. Mental cravings are more of a challenge.:|

Hi Gonna-
I can deal with physical cravings...they don't seem to be to bad. But the mental cravings are killing me. Six am this morning, not quite awake and the first thought through my head is " Yea it's Friday, I can drink tonite!" What is wron with me??? Completely mental...How long does it take before the mental switch is switched off? I truly feel like I have separated myself from my best friend...and I miss him/her terribly!! I am doing abs b/c I know that one glass of wine and I am goner and I can't imagine having to pick myself up and start over again. I putting more L-glut into my plan and that seems to help with the physical cravings but what can be done about the mental part???
