    What's in a name?

I like Marilyn Monroe and her famous quote/song - Diamonds are a girls best friend.
I wanted to be like her when I was younger (much younger) nice, attractive, expensive, gorgeous - only wish I was. So, Diamond it was.
I feel as though it's all happening to someone right next to me.
I'm close, I can feel it, I can hear it, but it isn't really me.

      What's in a name?

I was Not Powerless when I started here because I didn't want alcohol to have control of me. Then it was recommended by some members that I admire that I choose something more postive as a name....so Beaches it is. Beaches make me calm. Some of my favorite memories are of vacationing in the Caribbean and lying on the beach just listening to waves the hit shore. That is my "happy place" when I get stressed. I love being on the beach and looking out into the blue/green waters.....

        What's in a name?

I am a bit worried about myself because I so identify with lucky. Yesterday someone told me I was lucky, and I though- Yeah, dah.

And I identify with duckies. I bought ducky shoes and a rubber ducky (and a non-ducky blanket) for a baby shower. They all ohhh and ahhhed over the duckies. It was funny. Like an inside joke but no one knew but me.

I digress but the mother to be was given butt cream. I had no idea but cream existed so I asked if it was for the baby or the mother! LOL

Had to be there I guess.

Baby showers have DAMN good champagne punch.

          What's in a name?

I'm Rottrod because it is my cartag.
It is my cartag because I have Rottweilers and they like to ride in the car with the top down. It is red, so instead of a hot rod it is a rottrod.

            What's in a name?

            RR,

Why did it take you so long to tell us that so concisely? I knew it had to do with rotweillers and a car but now I get it.

I will never call you rot though. You are RR.

              Thanks lucky,
I don't know why it took so long..maybe because we were in chat and I was in a hurry.

                What's in a name?

RR - just a thought here ... I believe Rottweilers are originally from Germany. "Rot" is red in german ... so shouldn't you actually be Rotrottrod?

                  What's in a name?

Probably so Tawn but cartags can only have 7 letters here in my state.

Are you a linguistics specialist? Because you have one of the most colorful, creative vocabularies I have ever encountered. (That is a compliment by the way.)

                      What's in a name?

I picked the name Young At Heart because I had turned 50 a few days before I joined, and I don't feel 50 (and I don't act it either ). Some people have thought that I was older though because I picked that name.

The story of my avatar is more interesting though. The name of the avatar is "Fifties Girl", and I was born in the 50's and I had just turned 50, so that's why I picked her. I don't look anything like her, though. I actually have long, blonde hair and green eyes. We do share in kind of a jaunty look, though, and I do like hats!

                        What's in a name?

                        well ok

Mine is less inspired than most of you guys. I have been really into Suzanne Somers books, about eat great, lose weight, sexy forever, etc. So in picking my name I incorporated a little Southern into the Suzanne and became Suzanna. I wanted a real name name, if you know what I mean. I keep changing my avatar but I think I will stick with this one because I am into yoga and the concepts of hinduism. Whatever helps me get where I want to go! :h Suz

                          What's in a name?

Well mine is pretty self explanatory but, there is a little story....

I was having dinner with several girlfriends and we were all talking about weight, exercise, raw foods, colonics, cleansings ect... all aspects of living a healthy lifestyle which I follow and have some pretty good knowledge of and I said " well, I could never give up my precious pinot". MY precious pinot..like pinot grigio was a treasured possession of mine. I was actually drinking a glass at the time. They laughed and one of them said how funny it was. It stuck with me and I found this site shortly after.
Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

                            Hi
I am happier next to the sea than anywhere else and I love swimming in the powerful waves.

Also you can wave goodbye to something.

Q- I have like both your names.

                              What's in a name?

My name comes from my beautiful chocolate labrador- Isabella. She is kind, very thoughtful, cheeky, full of fun and energy, so loving, loyal and protective... and very beautiful...............just like how I would like to be.
