    song for my son

right guys i need some advice i have found a song that i want to play at the wedding reception daughter in law to be says i can but do you think it is too corny?

    i dont know where
    the time has gone
    since those little boy days
    doesnt seem that long
    yet here you are
    it's your wedding day
    and there's one thing darling
    i'd like to say

    chorus

    be kind be sweet
    be a gentle man
    care and share
    and always be fair
    and remember though you now
    have taken a wife
you will always be my son
    my loving son

    you filled my life
    with so much joy
    as i watched you grow
    from that little boy
now i'll try not to cry
    as you walk away
    and just once more darling
    i'd like to say
    repeat chorus

o.k guys give me your honest opinions please !!

    song for my son

Who am I to say??!! I think the sentiments are lovely. I can't imagine what it'll be like when my little guys get married..... If your DIL to be says OK and you really want to play it, I say go for it. But if you're afraid it's too corny or you think your son might get embarrassed (only you know him and how he'll react), maybe you could give him a copy in a special box or write the words in a special card and give it to him...

If he won't be embarrassed, who cares about the guests. GO FOR IT!!

I love the words and if he doesn't embarrassed easily...I think it would be great.

                song for my son

you know mama, you've been the one raising him all these years and it is his day yes but it is your day too. this is the day that you let him go to be a man. this is the day that although he is your son. you are really giving him a way. so i'd say sing whatever song your little heart desires. and let everyone deal with whatever emotions they have to around that. funny thing this thing called we are all mirrors for each other. that song is mirroring this profound love you have for that boy turned into a man. i'm so happy you are doing it. not only am i so proud of the amazing god's work you do in this world for all of the families you do it for but then who you are for your family. you are by far one hell of a woman. and honestly the dress, you could show up in a paper bag and hands down be more of a human being, goddess woman then most anyone i know. the service and all you provide and what you have to go through to be you. well, makes my big ol barbie boots heart swell up with pride to say this is my friend here and i'm proud to know her. now, kick back and watch that girl play her song. :0

Lovely thought....must make mental thought for my son's wedding (LOL~he's only 5 :H ). Sons are so special.

Will you be doing a "mother/son" dance? That would be awesome to do.

                    song for my son

Hi hereatlast, are you planning singing it yourself to him or is it a song recorded you want played at the reception? Beautiful words but it would depend if he is the sentimental type (only you know that) or if he would be embarrassed at it being played or sung publicly. I would run away if someone sang a song to me but I am a bit strange that way anyway, ie - out for a night out with colleagues who all hug each other - yeuch... not for me. I'm sure you will make the right decision.

I think the words are lovely, don't know the tune though, I feel that if he will be happy and daughter-in -law is happy then go ahead. I agree that her opinion does count because she is his choice and asking her shows her that you care for both of them.

you are lovely, i am sure he will be a great husband because you have taught him well

I feel as though it's all happening to someone right next to me.
I'm close, I can feel it, I can hear it, but it isn't really me.

                          Hereatlast,
I think the lyrics of your song are lovely and reflect the Mother Love and how women try to raise their sons to respect women.

                          Go for it!!!
