      Miracle food!

Thanks Greeneyes - just the sort of thing I have been failing to find! Gonna really get into quinoa now that I have cooked it properly and know how yummy it is. Still going to be a while before I can get into it with raw garlic for breakfast though........

        Miracle food!

For those of you that are not opposed to eating cheese I made a really good dish the other night. I had leftover quinoa. I sauteed kale and shallots in some oil with garlic and seasoned with a little salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. I put the quinoa in a baking dish, put the kale on top and then made a simple cheese sauce with extra sharp cheddar and poured on top. Baked in a 350 oven until browned on the top. Really, really good!!!

                    Miracle food!

This is funny and quite ironic, but my wife and I keep a couple of parrots, and get "Birdtalk" magazine. The last issue had an article about how quinqa is a miracle food for parrots, complete with parrot quinoa recipes. I can provide some, if anyone's interested.

                          Miracle food!

OK Lushy ... On Monday I intend to buy a whole fresh fish and stuff it with a mixture of giant couscous, dried cherries, fresh mint leaves, olive oil, a vanilla bean, lemon juice, rosemary and sea salt, - wrap in foil and bake for 20 mins.

                          I shall report back.

Good Morning Quinoa Queens and Quinoa Virgins!

Thought I would bump this today as I get ready to eat some quinoa flakes with prunes and blueberries and orange blossom and rose water. Plus the usual array of mixed seeds and nuts.

If you haven't given Quinoa a go yet, I hope reading My Own Woman's fab thread will encourage you to do so. There are also great recipes in the recipe section of the site.

Oh and Tawny -are you still with us? Or did you just expire from the sheer delights of that amazing sounding fish 'n quinoa dish? Do tell us how it tasted!

                                Miracle food!

Try mixing cooked quinoa with some parmesan cheese. Slice zucchini in half and scoop out the seeds. Stuff them with the quinoa and bake. Absolutely delicious and you get twice the vegetable for the starch!
