did anyone feel strange with Gaba?

I just started taking Gaba yesterday and I take it with the L-Glut after lunch. I previously took L-Glut by itself and felt fine. I feel kinda shaky and icky...and a little light headed. Did anyone else experience this?

Sorry, I can't help you with that one, I don't take it.

I think it showed potential interaction with a medication I was already taking prior to MWO.

Hopefully you checked it against any current meds (if any) that you currently take. If not, please do so immediately.

Otherwise, you should probably check with your doctor.

Thank you periwinkle for your reply. I don't take any prescription meds right now so...I'll do a little research. Hope you are having a great Sunday!

          Forgiving,

I notice I get a buzzy head feeling when I take it. It lasts about 30 minutes.

Just for giggles and grins, I had my non-drinking hubby take some and he did not have that reaction. Interesting.

I'm like Cindi, my head kinda tingles and my face and neck feel kinda warm--like a hot flash I suppose. My capsules are 750 mg. They don't make me feel sick or "yucky" though. And it goes away quickly.

Interesting experiment, Cindi. I have contemplated sneaking my dh some GABA to see if his mood improves......hmmmm.....I wonder if it works if you put it in beer????:H

I guess it depends on both how much you take and what you take with it and if you take it with food, especially proteins. Taking it on an empty stomach definitely gives it a much bigger and faster effect.

It also probably depends on how tired you are and other factors. I take one True Calm together with one 750mg GABA (True Calm has 200mg GABA, but also several other calming herbs and vitamins). I also take it together with vitamin C and B vitamins (these help your body absorb and process it.)

Usually I get a similar effect to you, with a kind flushed face (which doesn't show) and tingliness. Often I like this feeling, but sometimes if it is too strong, it is so uncomfortable that I feel like I desperately need a drink(!). It's sort of a coffee buzz crossed with a fuzzy head.

Sometimes I have tried also taking extra Taurine with it (1400mg)-- this is a calming amino acid that seems to take the hard edge off the GABA high, leaving you with the benefits.
