    Bruises

I notice that I often have these palm size bruises. I mean they are big! I notice them mostly because they itch. At first I thought...I must have fallen when I was drunk! No, these are in places that just don't make any sense...I also notice that I get them after I've been on a binge...
I'm sure this is Al related....anyone know anything else about them? Has anyone else every heard of or had this?

Do I need a specific sup for these?

If they follow a binge, chances are they WERE from a fall, bumping into things, etc. Regular drinkers bruise easily. Never heard of the itching part though.

    Some things you can try:

    vitamin c with citrus biflavinoids

    Arnica gel - topical

    Arnica montana - homeopathic pills

    traumeel cream

    vitamin E - topical

Definitely think the bruising is caused by an incident that you just can't recall. When bruises itch, it's a normal part of a healing process, breaking up the settling blood at the surface. Vitamin K cream helps dissipate bruises. Not only am I a drinker, but take lots of Advil for back pain - that also causes severe bruising.

        Hi Jamms,
I read somewhere a while back that significant bruising was a sign that your liver is not doing too well.
Have a look at this link:

          Jamms,

I know someone who had been drinking very heavily for a long time.

She got bruises that didn't make sense and then her hair started falling out.

          It was severe liver damage.

She has quit drinking and her hair is back and she is healthy again.

          There is hope for us.

              now I'm scared

Thanks for the responses. I knew it was only a matter of time before it became a reality that drinking WILL fuck up your heath!!!!!!! Excuse my language.

I guess it's time to go to the Dr. Isn't there a sup I can start to repair the damage I have caused myself?

Dear Jamms, There are many others on this site that know way more than me about health issues...Greenie is very wise.Back when I binged, I was bleeding internally and found liquid chlorophyll was a great re-builder and is easy to get at any health food store.

                  Jamms,

Milk thistle but please say you'll go to your doctor. You should have blood work (check for elevated enzymes) and possibly a scan of your major digestive organs (stomach, pancreas, liver, kidneys, intestines). Please do this. Seriously.

                    OK

                    Made apt.! Friday 11/21 @ 1:30.

The receptionists did not ask why I wanted to be seen I just told her that I had a concern that I felt needed to be seen! (reffering to the bruise) At first she asked if it could wait til next week.

                    :thanks:

Great Jamms! A blood work up willl show everything. Schizandra extract (health food store) is also good for rebuilding the liver, but not to be taking if you are still drinking. digestive enzymes are a good idea too because the involved organs don't function like they should because of the alcohol. Let us know what happens. :l

Yes, but caffeine really does a number on the central nervous system. So I avoid all caffeine. Except for chocolate :H
