    Neti/Nedi Pot?

    Interesting- thx Zen.

I bought the pot because Dr. Oz suggested it on Oprah yesterday. Seems weird but I will try. The pot was $18. Dr. Oz only suggested warm water, no salt.

Lots of my Yoga friends use them and say they're really effective-I don't have the need to use one, but would give it a go if I did.

luCKy I hope you see this before you use it. If you don't use salt (making it a saline solution) it is going to burn the shit out of your nasal passages. Think breathing swimming pool water. The neti pot rec is in the directions 1C warm water w/ 1/4 t non iodized salt.

I found a demonstration on U-tube when I was researching this. I had never heard of a neti pot. Yet another reason why alcohol is not good for you.

              Neti/Nedi Pot?

              LucKy,
I just bumped up my post from last late fall on using a neti pot for nasal irrigation. It improved my health significantly. I don't use it except during the colds season, when our heated air is very dry.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

                Neti/Nedi Pot?

Used one for years, hubby uses daily we buy the salt packets at walgreens. He cleans out the sawdust with it. I buy them for the kids at work who have bad sinuses and colds or headaches works like a champ.

They are recommended by that Dr. OZ the one Oprah has on she even had it demonstrated on one of her shows years ago.

Thanks for the post. I have terrible allergies. How often do you need to do it?

Thanks everyone. Takeheart, I have no idea. I don't think it would be a bad thing to do daily but I really don't know.

                        Neti/Nedi Pot?

I bought one and have used it a few times for nasal stuffiness, which I had all the time when I was drinking. Now that I'm off the AL, no more stuffiness......think there was a connection? Most certainly, and yet I kept thinking I was allergic to my cats who I wasn't about to part with.

                        Another reason NOT to drink.

you can use it as often as you need it, just don't over salt the water.

I use it after I crank up the yard tools. All that dust and stuff, you can't help but breathe some. It's also good to use after you've been on an airplane.

                              Neti/Nedi Pot?

I use a neti pot when I feel a cold coming on or when I'm already in the midst of one....keeps me from having to take so much congestion medicine! It's a weird feeling but doesn't hurt or anything.
