    Neti/Nedi Pot?

I tried it but I couldn't do it. The water went in one nostril but never came out the other. What am I doing wrong?

      Neti/Nedi Pot?

      Heart,
I found that I really had to be careful about how I "angled" my head when I did it. I probably look ridiculous, but I end up with my head titled almost horizontally (leaning my ear towards my shoulder), putting the spout of the neti pot into the "top" nostril and leaning slightly forward also (over the sink this whole time) to ensure that nothing runs towards my throat, that it runs forward gravity-wise out the other nostril.

It was trial and error for sure. Are you REALLY stuffed up when you try? That is sometimes a problem too, I am sometimes SO congested when I try that nothing is able to get through and I have to try and blow my nose several times to get things "moving" for lack of a better term first then I try again.

      Hope this helps. Good luck!

        Neti/Nedi Pot?

I just put some warm water & some salt in a cup/glass. Anything you can get your nose in. Just press one side of your nostril closed and then suck/inhale it up. And then repeat on the other side. It really helps. I have been using this for years when I have a stuffy nose. (You are right that the alcohol makes you more stuffy) Just be careful because all of a sudden, you'll bend over & water will pour out of your nose unexpectedly - so be sure to bend over before you leave your house. :H

          Neti/Nedi Pot?

Thank you both for your helpful replies! I was certainly not inhaling, maybe the whole thing gave me a panick attack of sorts. I might feel like I'm drowing if I inhale....this crap is not for the faint of heart!!!!!!! I do suffer from "vasomotor rhinitis" so I'm used to my nose having what seems like water run out when I bend over and I would like that to stop! The Dr's have no solution for me. I will give this another go! PS I do feel a bit more stuffed up when drinking Luvya, Myeart

            Neti/Nedi Pot?

I have a "sinucleanse" neti pot, and it works very well. There is also a demo on their website. The only time it has ever hurt is when I make the water too hot or cold. I buy the packets, which you can order on their site.

You can actually do the sinus wash up to 4X a day, although for maintenance purposes, 1X a day usually works for me for allergies, etc. They are great for getting rid of sinus infections as well as preventing them.
