    Milk Thistle Warning

I just tripped into this when googling Milk THistle and drug interactions Possible Interactions with: Milk Thistle - evidently there's some new evidence the MT and alot of drugs can interact - wish I had seen this before cause one of the interactive drugs is a scrip I am on for cholesterol. Most Statins can increase in potency with MT. Not a good thing.

I had just started up on MT - so far only taken 2 - 1 yesterday and one today - I will not be taking any more - another reason for total abstinence. I wouldn't need to worry about this if I didn't drink..... damn.

Thank you. My husband has cerosis (SP?) and speaks highly of it...thankfully he is not on anything else. I appreciate the info QT!

Colbe, i don't know how far off approval of sulfasalazine is, but this sure looks like promising news to folks like your hubby:

Thanks for writing about Mild Thistle, QuitinTime. I have been taking it and just learned that it interacts with a medication I am on, too. I'll be exploring this further.

Check this out. If you are on meds, run it by your Doc.

            To Colbe:
hey, glad you're in good spirits and fighting form, and able to keep a sense of humor despite crippling depression -- you're a fighter!! you go girl!! Really glad you're fighting thru it and keepin' on posting and making connections.

So, I don't mean to pick on you in any way, but am confused about your recent post ... did I misundestand? if so, mea culpa .... here is my confusion:
You posted that your hub has cirrhosis ? and he speaks highly of it ?!?! >> WTF I'm confused. Cirrhosis of the liver is a life-threatening condition, not something to celebrate or make light of ... especially not on his forum, where people are compromised with liver disease. My Grandpa died of liver cirrhosis. I loved him.

I am rooting for you and so happy you're coming back to yourself ... but I am also feeling hurt about your making light of cirrhosis. But for the grace of God there go we.
