Hi to All.

THE WATER THREAD
Newbie
Hi,
I'm new here so please forgive me if I'm not yet on track. I have never used a form like this before.
As long as we are talking about health issues, does anyone else have a vitamin D deficiency as well as the other stuff we are dealing with?
Mine is pretty low, on a standard scale of 30 to 100 mine came in at 14. I feel like crap all the time. I'm not sure if it the deficiency or the alcohol? Of course I need to correct both.
Thanks,
Rodan

Fortunately I love water! I fill my Brita Pitcher at least 3 times a day! I always have my stainless water bottle with me in the car and when I fly, I drink one lg or 2 small bottles of water plus a juice on the plane! Then again, I live at high altitude and it is very dry here...LOL
For years now, I only drink 2 coffee's in the morning and a tea late afternoon. Occassionally a coffee late afternoon. I fully confess to loving coffee! And...coffee has a lot of positives, high in anti-oxidants and good for digestion.A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes~Cinderella

THE WATER THREAD
The author of the water book is F. Batmanghelidj, MD - I'll call him Batman for short WaterCure | The Miracles of Water to Cure Diseases
This is from the Batman book:
Perceptive feelings that signal dehydration
1. Feeling tired without a plausible reason. Water is the main source of energy formation in the body. Even the food that is supposed to be a good source of energy has no value to the body until it is hydrolyzed by water and energized in the process. Fruthermore, the energy source for neurotransmission and for the operational directives that get things done is hydroelectricity, which is formed in the nerve pathways and their connection to the muscles and joints in the body.
I remember when having energy work done by someone, we both made sure we were hydrated so that we were as "electric" as possible.sigpic

I just want to say thank you for this thread. I am at least making an effort to drink more water. Yesterday I had my usual pot of coffee plus a cup in the evening--but I also had a quart of water and 0 diet pop.
All of this is way better than the 12 pack of beer I would have consumed in the past!
:thanks:_______________

I suck.
Mario, fresh ginger is good in green tea! L-glute for chocolate cravings?
From the Batman book:
2. Feeling flushed. When the body is dehydrated, and the brain cannot draw sufficient water from the circulation to satisfy its needs, it commands a proportionate dilation of the blood vessels that reach it. Furthermore, the face is not a simple organ that supports two eyes, a mouth, a nose and two ears. It is a receptor dish with an abundant supply of nerve endings that constantly monitor the environment and report their information to the brain. In other words, the face is an extension of the brain with highly sensitive functions. Its nerve endings need to be hydrated, too; hence the increased circulation to the face at the same time as the brain gets it's increased blood supply. If you see someone with a red nose and flushed face - often seen in alcoholics, because alcohol truly dehydrates the brain, leading to severe headaches - that person is dehydrated and in need of water.sigpic

OK I've got apples and a plan ready. I need some lemons and limes though.
From the Batman book
3. Feeling irritable and unreasonably short-tempered. (Who me?) Irritability is a copout process so as not to engage in a brain-energy-consuming involvement beyond that particular moment. Give irritable people a couple glasses of water and you will see them calm down and become fairly amiable.
Not sure how I would suggest that :H but I can try it on myself. Hopefully I won't have to.sigpic

From the Batman book:
4. Feeling anxious. This is a perceptive way in which the frontal part of the brain can reflect its concern over the water shortage in its domain of activity. I cannot imagine a more eloquent way for the thinking brain to reflect its anxiety aout dehydration in the body of its delinquent owner. (ouch, Batman!) Obviously, when the body wanted water, it must have been given other beverages that did not satisfy its real needs. (uh, like coffee?)sigpic

I am trying very hard to take my water bottle with me everywhere--but in this bitter cold it is very hard to drink more than 1 quart a day._______________
