    Colonic Irrigation

    Cinders;884236 wrote: Hi,

I just had to add to this thread.

I am not one who is into this kind of thing but it brought back some childhood memories.

My mama was an old fashioned country girl, raised by an even more old fashioned mama of her own. They had some odd ideas about health.

If I got a headache, my mama assumed I was constipated. She would give me an enema.

Even as little as I was, I learned after only two episodes of mentioning to her about my headaches that I would never mention them again. :H:H

ps It turned out I needed glasses.

sprinkle some chia seeds on your cereal each morning. You'll never have a problem again. My work is done here. Bye all.

          Another interesting thread
I've read it's a huge thing in Hollywood. Supposedly, the stars get them before big events to shed some quick weight.

Beer used to keep me 'regular' but after a few days AF I started feeling bloated/backed up. I'm now on day 19 AF and I just finished a 2-week whole body cleanse. I didn't feel like I was getting great results with the cleanse alone so I started drinking Senna Tea at night as well (just be careful not to steep it to long). I also use ground Flaxseed on my cereal every morning. It has a nice flavor, kind of nutty tasting.

Let us know how the colonic goes - I've been contemplating getting one myself, for health sake

p.s. Cinders - that is too funny - LOL!

On a more serious note, what about the stuff they make you take prior to a colonoscopy? Wouldn't that be a little easier and you could do it in your own home?

I don't know much about colon irritation but I would think the stuff they make you drink to clear you out prior to the scope would be as good?

Sorry to hear you're still having problems Panno. I suffered from IBS for two years before I healed and no problems since--8 years now. Flax seeds should be soaked and drink the soak water or must be ground and refrigerated. The seeds are too hard to digest and the oils once ground become volatile and should be refrigerated. Techie is right--chia seeds are easily digested and full of nutrients and therefore the best choice. Check out food combining practices; Eat Right for your Blood Type and increase your L Glutamine to 5 grams a couple times per day. That was the therapeutic dose recommended to me and I'm convinced it was the icing on the cake to heal my intestinal tract.
Someone mentioned senna--very stripping to the colon and makes a lazy bowel. I only recommend it when someone is bed ridden and/or on heavy meds that cause constipation. I also avoided wheat, sugar and processed foods in general. Stay on a good pro biotic(acidophilus) that must be refrigerated as well. Flora Mnfg makes excellent pro biotics. I've always been a little leary of colonics personally. Maybe as an initial clean out ok, but do work on the other suggestions. The peristaltic movement can be healed. I also took cascara sagrada for four years ongoing. It is a stimulant and tonifier of the muscles without causing dependence like senna. It may take awhile as in my case but you must make the other adjustments too. Pardon the expression but I have both professional and personal experience with this sh*t!

Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Have you looked into psyllium, panno? Ground husks AND seeds. You may want to check that out as something to add to a daily regimine.

And just to complicate things further If you're upping your fibre/taking flax make sure you drink lots more water. Water would be one of the first things to try. I take a supplement called lacto GG, seems to keep me 'balanced'. Good Luck!

i did a liver cleanse from CVS (drugstore here) and it did seem to make me feel better. Something so 'clean feeling' about being clean from the inside out. let us know how it goes please! Seven days to sobriety mentions candida issues as well, I found it very interesting myself...
Techie and Cinders, you guys crack me up. lol

Hi Lion, will keep you posted. I too have been reading about Candida and find it very interesting. I know sometimes you can make your symptoms fit an article but it does make alot of sense of how my body and mind is feeling right now.

                                Me, too!

Hey, Cindi....are you like your mom with your kids? (hahahahahahah). The sad thing about this, though...is that I have an older friend (she's in her 70s) who is very well-educated who gives herself an enema if she has a headache. Her kids think she's nuts, and so do I, but she's a lovable nut and she's in fabulous shape....looks like she's 50....so who am I to judge? :-)

I'm trying my colon cleanse this weekend. Pray the loo door doesn't blow off the hinges. Good thing I live alone!
