The Paleo Diet. Learning from our evolution

I went to all 3 sites - briefly Det. I thrive on this kind of diet. Only wish I could get back to it. I was drinking a half bottle of wine a night as well and felt great! The original book by Peter D'Adamo--"Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type" is worth paying attention to too. How 'bout some garlic with that?? Thanks.....

you can do it Cedars! just make a plan, clean out the pantry and start fresh.

Dx and I had an early dinner of free range lamb chops and green beans with garlic. been bouncing around like a bunny ever since

dessert time so it's blackberries and some apple.

mind you I'm NOT doing strict Paleo, but it's influencing my dietary habits.

Thanks Det...pantry has all the makings of a healthy diet...its the eat out stuff that hurts..literally....for those that don't know --too much grain of the wrong kind will make you blind or hurt.....

I did paleo for awhile, but kept failing at it because I was addicted to beer. I've been sober almost 2 months now, so I intend to get back to it. In combination with an exercise regime, it really helps me lose weight and feel better. I used to do the Atkins diet, but Paleo makes much more sense and is much less restrictive.

Hi all! Those are all great resources, thanks for the tips! You may also wish to check out the book "Primal Blueprint" and the website Mark's Daily Apple. I think eating paleo style really helps with cravings.

I managed my first AF and Paleo Christmas. and it was really easy actually.

I found this link to be of particular interest as fatty liver disease is very common among drinkers and also vegetarians (especially vegans). Fatty liver is nothing to sneeze at. it's lethal if untreated.

Thanks Determinator - I'll be reading up on the articles you have posted.

I did the pesco-vegetarian thing (fish but no other meat) for a few years and found it made me feel great. This looks promising and not too far of a stretch from my current dietary habits.

I'm going to guess that 98% of everyone reading this is not meeting thier daily protein requirements. Start taking a couple daily whey protein shakes and see how your mood/energy/sleep improves. Do that AND cut out all simple carbs and you're really getting somewhere.

ps...I'm not endorsing his products. I don't even buy them myself. (I really like his thorough and thoughtful research though). I am very picky on my supplements and also a cheapskate, so I shop around
