yes in fact the thread on the Paleo diet is a great place to start. I posted a link on info concerning that diet helping to cure people of 'fatty liver disease'. I'll post an additional link to some FAQ's there so I don't derail this thread. see you there

Great post, thanks for the info.
Very interesting to read about the tryptophan deficiency being responsible for blackouts. (well, responsible in a loose sense of the word!) Will try supplementing that and see if it helps...Having hit the switch, I now post under the username "bleep". Look forward to seeing you on the other side...

Hmmm - just looked trytophan up, and it's rich in chicken, beef, lamb, tuna, etc... These foods form the mainstay of my diet, given that I loathe most vegetables, so I can't imagine I'm short. Still, a supplement can't hurt, I suppose.Having hit the switch, I now post under the username "bleep". Look forward to seeing you on the other side...

Thanks for the reminder to take the aminos and stuff. I realized that I stopped taking my Omega 3 (2-4grams) for depression and my hair fell back out but the bac may have contributed to that since it's gotten much worse since fall when I started the bac, and my cravings got worse. I've also not been doing any aminos at all, despite having spent some huge amount of money at BioRecovery after reading the excellent Seven Weeks to Sobriety. Roberta Jewell is right, all those supplements are impossible to take, I actually bought a hardware store plastic organizer for nails/screws or other small items, and despite the 20 or so slots for pills, and labels noting which pill is which and when to take and how much, it's like a full time job taking them. Plus the plastic is probably leaching all sorts of unsafe chemicals since it's not an intended food container. BPA's or whatever all over my expensive pills!
Great posting Beatle, really in depth information that helps because it explains all the whys and hows, something you rarely can find all in one place. thanks for that.
The powder recommended in the book MWO is All-in-One as you probably all know. I had wondered about the quality but didn't do any research, just bought it. I appreciate getting the Jarrow recommendation, will look that up!
Update: Bought the Jarrow, and feel great after taking it. I'm not always in the mood for a meal, so this is great for snacking or for meals, along with my "green drink" (leafy greens all blended up). Dete, does Jarrow have enough aminos that I can ignore supplementing further, or do I need to add Glut? I have tons of it so it would be easy, just checking. Thx!

Beatle,
Great job. I found a liquid neutraceutical that also has an ingrediant with 6 patents to repair your DNA so can help reverse the damage to the liver. Ceregenex DTC, it taste really good as well. wwAL Free since Jan. 28 2011

Another great thread. Thanks beatle.
Det - I was excited about Jarrow Whey until I saw that it contains soy. A big no, no for me. Even if I wasn't allergic to it.
I may pick up some from Mercola even though he's such a hard sell type of guy. I haven't been taking aminos and feel I should add it back.
best,

Talk to your doctor and google Taurine. It might help with seizures.

Great Read.
Nearly everything I know (formed from multiple sources) and you have it down all in one place. Awesome!?Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.?

I would like to see either an MD or therapist familiar with medications and cognitive therapy to treat alcohol dependence. Does anyone know of any in the Tampa Bay Florida area?
Also,I have no insurance so I am hoping this will be affordable.
Thanks,
