lithium orotate again.
Coalfire, great thread. Thank you.
I had the same exact symptoms of seasonal depression, manic, bipolar and anxiety that you mentioned earlier in the thread. It wasn't until 6 months ago that I made some serious changes in my life to get on the road to recovery. And while I had moderate success, when the weather started to change from summer to fall, I fell down again. It was very discouraging. Felt like my whole world was caving in and any bit of hope was gone.
But I knew I wasn't going to quit. I couldn't go back to where I was. That was unacceptable. I couldn't live with myself if I just gave up. So I trudged on. I knew something was missing.
While searching for natural supplements for manic symptoms, I came across something I had read before but never paid any attention to, Lithium Orotate. I found many nice articles, Harvard Docs, normal people but you took it the next level. I now have one more supportive tool at my disposal. Thank you.
Before finding Lithium Orotate, I made significant advances. I found that keeping my blood sugar stable via diet, helped tremendously. I found that spiking blood sugar and the insulin release that follows artificially induces states of mania or depression. The better I ate, the more stable I was. And if I did have the ups and downs (mania/depression) they were faster cycling than before.
Orthomolecular medicine is very complimentary to what many of of you are doing.
Better go before I write a novel.
Thank you again?Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.?

Hi, Coalfire,
i was wondering how you are progressing on the Lithium Orotate?
I have been taking it since Christmas and have already noticed the 'calming effect' you mentioned.
I eat a lot of soy products and peanut butter, which contain a lot of choline. Perhaps this is why the LO worked so quickly?

First post!
I have spent the last 24 hours excitedly reading about two things:
Lithium Orotate
Baclofen
I'm an alcoholic who managed to put down the bottle for 5.5 months last year(after 4 years non-stop) and picked it up for another 5 months. I've just managed to wean myself off the booze again. I was a daily two bottles of wine + couple cans of lager bloke.
Baclofen looks very, very promising - but I know it'll be more of a struggle to get it. So, I thought, an easier route might be to try Lithium Orotate first.
I'm very encouraged by this thread and like others, would love to know if this is still working for the OP. I currently take a regimen of Vit B(high dose), Inositol, Taurine, Magnesium Biglycinate and Omega 3(EPA). This doesn't curb alcoholism - it's just a treatment for depression/anxiety that I think works.
In the first post Coalfire says "Anyway I started it 3 days ago along with choline vit b complex and folate acid as recommended." Can I please ask, where was this regimen recommended??
Cheers

GOSH dang. I took 10mg of Lithium Orotate this morning. I don't know what I'm feeling - maybe that benzo effect someone spoke of. Seriously, it hit me with that numbing, overly calming, lazy-thick feeling that alcohol gives me. My plan was to take 10mg 3x a day but I cannot sharply concentrate on my work. I am going to take 10mg just before wine drinking time at dinner making time. I don't think I will want to drink while taking this. I have never felt like this before. Very weird. I think someone said you build up a tolerance and it no longer affects you as deeply. I will report my findings over the next days. P.S. I did not take it with Choline. I took it with my multi vitamin by Twin Labs. I take my B-supplements on an empty stomach later in the day so I figure I had plenty of choline etc. floating around in me.

coalfire;1048934 wrote: For various reasons I decided to try Lithium Orotate. I had read on a few sites that its takes a while to work. Some places have said 10 days some say 6 weeks. Anyway I started it 3 days ago along with choline vit b complex and folate acid as recommended. Right from the first day I felt this strange pleasant tiredness/calmness come over me almost like half a benzo. It happened about an hour after I took it. At first I thought that it was just a fluke but its 3 days in and its no fluke. Its really noticeable. Anyway needless to say Im delighted but curious. Has anyone else had this with Lithium Orotate? Im worried in case its just some case of beginners luck and that it will wear off. There are other posts in this section about this drug but no one has mentioned this mild benzo like effect. For those who it worked for how exactly did it work? How did it make you feel? Does it change over time? Ps I ordered doctors best brand from a uk vitamin company that operates on ebay of all places. They have 850 positive reviews including me. Delivery to Ireland was cheap and easy.

I would drop it back to 5mg Spectrum and see how you get on. I must admit that when I finally get around to trying this, I'll start from 5.

Took ten mg last evening. Nothing in the a.m. My tension was tamed. I did not need alcohol. I did drink a little over half a bottle. More out of habit than desire I cannot believe my lack of. Need for the stuff. And I slept well.

I took 5mg(Doctor's Best) last night - can't say I really felt anything. Except possibly some relaxed feeling about 30 mins after taking. This wore off quickly, so could have been placebo.
Perhaps because I'm not really that anxious or stressed. I did have a fairly relaxed and pleasant evening, but I'm sure that might have been normal. I slept pretty well, but I did the previous night as well.
I also take Magnesium, but I've read that Mag and Li do compete for binding, so I deliberately took the Mag in the morning/lunchtime and the Lithium in the evening.
This evening, I'll try 10mg and see if that changes anything.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the very interesting posts, I have been researching LO and just got my pills this morning. Took my first one, not sure if I felt much but very hung over. I am on medication for high blood pressure so I am being very cautious, I may take another as the evening gets closer. Will keep you posted, very hopeful with some of the success I have seen on here.

Well this is pretty amazing! it is now 6pm in Australia and I still dont feel like having a drink-not me at, I would usually be on my 3 glass by now. First AL free evening in a very loooong time, AND there is a bottle of Vodka in the cupboard. Took another 5ml at 4pm and feeling very relaxed, I have been experiencing extremely high anxiety and depression which was spiralling out of control, alcohol has been my self medication. I reeealy hope LO could be the answer for me too!!! I scared it will be short lived as other people have said so Im hanging on to the experience of the people on here who have had long term success!!!
