You are brilliant, YAH! (the flip side of that is I am stupid and I'm not wanting to claim that)
Why DID I think I needed to melt the stuff before I put it in my mouth? DUH!

Oh, I can see that now bruun. I used to grow those and drink the tea.

ya it's not so bad to eat straight. kind of a weird sensation as it melts while you chew it.

Funny that. I really don't enjoy eating it off the spoon. Will swish on an as need basis and love how popcorn pops with it and throwing it in blender smoothies and cooking or frying.....

Yeah, I didn't like the sensation too much. Waxy sort of. I'll just melt it.

                The Benefits of Coconut Oil

I said I'd report if I had any success with the oil pulling, and I have. I find my sinuses drain when I do it. Sounds nasty, but better out than in, I'd imagine. I've found it easiest to do on my way to work, so I don't do it every day. I can time it this way, and convince myself to keep going as long as I can. :H I've got to also tell you, that I'm not sure if I can continue this level of commitment! It works, but it's very hard to do.

Anyway, thanks folks for introducing me to this.

Re eating raw - also meant to be brilliant. It's anti fungal/bacterial and improves metabolism so is great for those candida nasties that may have increased from too much AL/sugar! So should help stabilise weight and drop the pounds. I find eating it much harder than pulling but thanks, you've reminded me to put it into my daily plan. Also, good to have the virgin organic coconut oil for best results. BTW "extra" organic is a no no - no such thing so manufacturer just getting you to pay more money!

Re the oil pulling, I'm not even going to try, I'm sticking with the neti pot for my sinuses and flossing for the teeth. I just did a saliva spit test for labs and I always want to vomit looking at the saliva all bottled up. I don't know why!

I'm putting the CO in my tea three times a day, it melts and it also moisturizes my lips which I chew all the time so need it. It makes me warmer and I have lots of energy, although that can be from not drinking for the last few days. Duh.

I don't know about eating raw Firefly. It seems awfully hard to do, and there are people who say some of our food needs a little cookin if we have fungal overgrowth.

Bruun, did you do the spit test for Candida?

Wooah - Raw Firefly - I need to reread this thread - AND go get ready for work.

My doctor told me to use coconut oil to help my thyroid. I hate coconut! However, I have been cooking with it and have also found if I put a little in a glass and then put that glass in hot water, the oil will liquefy enough to put in smoothies. I can eat it off a spoon now, but for those who have trouble maybe it would help to melt it.

Also, like Redhead I am hoping that it will help candida - which I also am sure I have after drinking, antibiotics and TOO MUCH SUGAR.

And, Redhead - that spit test is something! Eeewww ... pretty gross looking :H

I did that test some years ago and it came up negative. Probably because I had eradicated it during another medical crisis some years prior. I'm sure I have a little though, since I do get itchy.

I did the spit test last week for 23&me.

                              Hi Redhead & Pansy

What's the spit test?? I'd love to know if I still have candida. I think I do as I have various symptoms.

Thanks for the warming up tip Pansy, as yes it is pretty hard eating it raw!!

I've been putting it in my tea and coffee too. I definitely feel revved up afterwards. And I feel that it also lessens my appetite.
