I see. I did not know. I only know one person with gluten problem. She is eating only gluten free food, but yet she is fat, because she is eating sugar all day long. How healthy is that?

      Hi Bruun,

Bruunhilde;1175991 wrote: Here's the answer to my question:

      Ingredients:
Fresh Ground Whole Grain *Wheat, Sprouts of *Kamut, *Spelt, *Rye, Lentils, Sesame Seeds, *Millet, *Quinoa, *Amaranth, Ground Flaxseed, *Wheat Bran, Oat Bran, Eggs, Undenatured Whey Protein Isolate (90%), Chicory Root (Inulin Fiber), Wheat Gluten, Yeast & Sea Salt.

This is obviously not paleo, however, I might try it for a time since I'm struggling in so many ways right now - trying grains again may be what I have to do to be AF. Regular bread makes me crave more carbs/AL. So I'm willing to check this out. I think someone else posted this on MWO (or I've seen it before somewhere because the website is very familiar to me).

How much weight have you lost?
Sorry that I did not answer earlier, but I just saw your question.
I lost about 8 pounds during the past two weeks. I could have lost more if I did not have a
few days when I was drinking. I am in Ketosis and trying to stay under 10-15 carbs per day.
Measure everything I eat and calculate my carb and protein intake at:

CalorieKing - Diet and weight loss. Calorie Counter and more

I like this website. It is very useful.

How are you doing with AL? Are you still taking Gabapentin?

      Cheers,

      Brian

Yes, the problem for many is they go for the quick fix substitutes. While satisfying the carb craving on occasion is not likely to be harmful. Using too many of these subs don't provide the nutritional density of whole foods. Unfortunately, if this person doesn't clean up she will find diabetes, osteoporosis, cardiovascular and digestive imbalance in her future.

Good luck on you goals Brian!

          Hi RC,

Thanks! I am going to try to make it real hard this time.
Last time a had a goal of 30 days and I messed it up on the very last day
after 29 days and 6 hours or so. It was so foolish.

          Cheers,

          Brian

Hi Brian-- 29/30 is pretty much the same and an excellent start imo. What you do with it after is even more important. What is your goal after 30?

For All of you who wants to lose weight!

              Hi RC,

Well. Last time had a goal only for 30 days. Which was substantial for me considering that
before that the last time I had that long sobriety was in 1992 or 3.
But when I was getting close to the 30 day mark, I wanted to see what kind of reaction I would get if I drink on L-glutamine. Which I have never tried before. I thought that I have hit some kind of a switch, like the people talk about Baclofen. So I wanted to test my cravings.
I had my birthday about a week before, and I got a big bottle of Jose Cuervo from one of my friend.
It has stayed on my fridge for about a week, but when I started drinking, its fate was pretty much predictable. I have killed the whole damn thing on that weekend.

So this time I am not testing anything!
Now I do not have a bottle of Jose Cuervo!
I do not keep alcohol at home, unless I am drinking.
              My wife is abstinent.
Hopefully it will be easier this time.

Thanks for all the good advices!
I am honestly also surprised that nobody tried this bread (no feed back).
I guess people do not care about advices anymore, because it is coming from everywhere. Open your faucet or your fridge, and somebody tries to sell you something!

Hi Brian--not having it in the house is a good idea--"lead me not into temptation....." Also, great that your wife does not drink. I'm sure that would make it harder if she did, initially anyways.

You never know when someone will get some benefit from your personal research and experience, even if they don't post. It will often generate other comments that may help people as well, so keep sharing please.

                Cheers! (with a cranberry/perrier )

                  Hi Brian,

I agree with RC, keep posting, there are many people who read and never post but benefit from the reading.

I do appreciate your posting here, I keep thinking I should go buy that bread but I never get to the store that may carry it. But I will, and I'm very glad you posted it. It looks like it has great ingredients too, I'm looking for healthy stuff. I'm not eating much these days, just lost a couple pounds, yay! But I'm not eating enough and that's going to backfire so I will try to find that bread, it sounds like a healthy addition to the low carb lifestyle.

Also, yes, gabapentin saved me today, I've been SUCH A MESS lately with anxiety that I haven't even really been able to do or view much here much less anywhere else. I find its the only drug I know of that helps me off "the ledge" - that severe flight response to stress that I usually medicate with alcohol. The gabapentin just saved me, I took alot though, but I felt it was an emergency. I took 600mg and it helped somewhat, then I took another one and felt so much better. Calmer, not buzzed or high in any way whatsoever. I did feel high a few times when I took it at first, but that quicky disappeared. I need to ask my doctor to RX it so I don't have to pay River pharmacy all my dough.

Have a good weekend Brian and RC and everyone.

                      Hi again Brian,

Bought the Smart Carb bread today, just had a piece of toast with cream cheese. Not my favorite type of bread because its so chewy, but hey, if it works for my health that's just fine. I'll chew away. I should also state that I was STARVING since I've been way undereating all week BECAUSE every time I eat it hurts after about 30 minutes), so my hunger levels when they exist are sky high. That helps things taste better as does the full fat cream cheese, which is of course, the only kind of dairy I buy now, full fat. (I've been having my raw milk all week too, I found out the grocery store gets delivery on Friday so I shop for it over the weekend and it lasts all week and helps me sleep when my ouchy tummy wakes me. - anyways, sorry to get off topic.

Today I weighed in at close to 30lbs lower than I was during the holidays, so if I lose just by adding this, that will be excellent.

Sorry to hear that eating giving you discomfort. That is no good! I am glad you have tried the bread. I think if you toast it for a little bit longer, it is not that chewy.
I still think it is god sent to the low carb dieters.
I just had my dinner with one slice of this bread, butter, onion, lettuce, tomato, an egg and two slices of ham. All I can say it was awesome. It is so filling because of the high
fiber content. Yet My carb intake was only 6 grams. That is pretty good for a tasty dinner.
I was not too good this weekend on the AL side though. My daughter had her 10th Bday.
So I just had a few drinks.
Well, you can always start fresh! :H

                        So I will start again!

                        Cheers,

                        Brian

PS: One thing I forgot to mention. The reason that I love this bread, because it is easy to stay on a very low carb diet with it.
When I was doing low carb diets before, after a while I was always cheating with some bread or rice or pasta.
But if you have this bread, you do not feel deprived from carbs. This bread taste like a real bread.
I also like the 0 carb Shirataki noodles that came from Asia.

Shirataki Noodles - JFC - JFC White Shirataki Noodles 7.0 oz | AsianFoodGrocer.com, Shirataki Noodles, Miso Soup

They smell like gasoline when you open up the package, but they need to be washed for 5-10 minutes and then they are pretty good in a soup.
This is definitely not for everybody, but if someone on a low carb diet, I would recommend to try.
There is also a Fetuccini noodle made with tofu that is low carb, but for me it has a funny taste.

Chewing a piece as I read your post, Brian. Piece number two, that was. Piled high with full fat cream cheese and a little manuka honey for the tummy.

Me too on the AL front, was doing well all last week til Friday hit. Never stop stopping! Never give up giving up!

I was just reading a post on low carb friends from a woman who hated those noodles (I've heard people either love 'em or hate 'em). She hated 'em but discovered that if she cut them into smaller pieces (more like macaroni length) and sauteed them in a dry pan for a bit, she liked them a whole lot better. I've not tried these yet because for some reason, I figured I'd be a hater. But I might give them a whirl now that I know to sautee them in a dry pan if I don't like them the regular way.
