ONE REASON FOR THE OCCUPATION MOVEMENT

    From Wikipedia:

Stanislaw Burzynski - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2010 film, Burzynski, Cancer is Serious Business, directed, written, edited, and narrated by Eric Merola, an art director of television commercials, describes Burzynski's use of antineoplastons and his legal clashes with government agencies and regulators.[20] The Village Voice commented that the movie "violates every basic rule of ethical filmmaking" and that by interviewing only Burzynski's supporters, the film?s producer "is either unusually credulous, or doesn't understand the difference between a documentary and an advertisement".[21] Variety described the film has having the qualities of a "paranoid conspiracy theory" and likened it to the National Enquirer, adding that the film?s explanatory diagrams are "simplistic to the point of idiocy". The review concluded that "despite its infotainment look, Burzynski ultimately proves convincing."[22] Prior to the debut of "Burzynski", Houston Press correspondent Cory Malisow reviewed the pre-release press kit and, after being refused an interview with Merola, mocked the film?s lack of objectivity, calling it "a puff-piece paean that cherrypicks facts and ignores any criticism", and criticized it for presenting only Burzynski's side of the story.[23]

perception and interpretation of anything and everything we experience. Maybe what I share with you will allow you to change your mind about how you want to

In 1985, there were 50 companies who owned media outlets. The graph on this site shows that between then and now, the number has dwindled to only six, and if the planned deregulation goes through it'll decline even further. Includes the major media reform advocacy groups.

        Truth
A truth?s initial commotion is directly proportional to how deeply the lie was believed. It wasn?t the

I?m not sure how presenting alternative views is inappropriate and commercial. If that were the case, then half (half not being an official stat) the conversational posts on MWO would be deemed inappropriate and many of those commercial as links are posted for all kinds of topics non al related.

Yes, Mario and there is FB for social networking. I?m really not sure why this topic fires people up so?. I know it frustrates and angers me and my way of dealing with it is sharing alternative information and NOT sinking into depths of despair in the bottle.

It doesn't anger or frustrate me. I have a habit of checking information for truthfulness and reliability. When I click on a link and I can see that the information being posted is agenda based and in some caese completely false I feel the need to bring it to the attention of others.

I just don't see what purpose this info serves on a recovery forum.

to restate the obvious: there a re literally thousands of posts on this site that in no way relate to recovery.
who is the judge of what is so objectionable as to warrant removal? our mods. lets let them do their job. I'm sure they are busy dealing with more serious things. now if someone is openly posting direct medical advice that is dangerous (I strongly suggest you take 12 aspirin per day) then by all means make some noise, but in matters of philosophy and belief who is God?.
there are some dear members of this board that post on the subject of astrology/numerology and other belief systems that I don't happen to believe in. and they post them in sections reserved for strict sobriety. Do I smack talk them? no I don't. do I post counter-articles to put them down publicly? no I don't. there is nothing productive in such action and it's only hurtful and mean-spirited. I look at them with an open mind and move along with my business. Its very easy to attack. being constructive takes strength and character. I don't always agree with RC's philosophies but i respect her opinion and will die fighting for her rights to express them.

And I disagree, but I am opinionated and sometimes argumentative.

I will stay away from religious debates, but as far as the posts that take a political stance about the evilness of our government or the conspiracies of the rich versus the poor I have a hard time letting those myths be spread. I also feel they don't send the message happiness and hopefulness that sobriety can bring you. They are normally downer posts that breed hopelessness. I come to recovery forums to feel good and to help others not to read of false doom and gloom, there are a million places where I can find that on the internet.

This should be a forum of hope and happiness where we try to help people beat their addiction to alcohol not where we post things that could push people to drink. Living a sober happy life is all about YOUR perception and YOUR outlook on life. I think I would continue drinking if I felt that the government and the rich people and the Free Masons and the Aliens were all out to hold me down....If I belived that I would feel helpless so what would be the purpose of sobriety. Sobriety is about having the perception of controlling your own destiny. Many of these articles with "the sky is falling " mentality do just the opposite.

So you disagree that this forum, "Holistic Healing" should be used to learn about holistic healing techniques to help people become and stay sober, and you feel that it should be a place to post controversial conspiracy theories that have been proven to not be true? OK

Now although I am not a true follower of the Paleo diet which you use and post about, I have been a proponent for a low carb diet and I do agree with alot of what Dr. Atkins has written and it has worked for me. If someone came on this forum and an posted false information about the harmful effects of the Paleo diet and tried to back it up with information from quacks and charlatans to pass the false information regarding the Paleo Diet as fact would you just let it go? Or would you try debunk the bad info so those in the forum would know the truth?

If it happened with my low carb diet I would try to set the record straight. Now how politics and conspiracy theories fall into the "holistic healing" forum I still haven't figured that one out. But I do not want to be a mod, I was just stating my opinion of what I think the purpose of a recovery forum should be.

there have been folks on my paleo thread that completely disagreed with my research and have posted their own which I have serious doubts about, a diametric opposition of thought and philosophy, however the discussions were friendly and and considerate. there were no attempts to discredit or embarrass any other members. And there was no 'yelling' in gigantic capitol letters (you haven't done this but I've seen it recently here). Both sides made their points both on the forum and in PM's and then we move along. And in some cases converts were made. I can't speak on behalf of the originator of this thread as to whether it belongs here or not. Personally I'm not bothered. There are many threads on this website that I've seen over the years that have actually offended me so I wisely avoid them. I was present in chat when the discussion came up with several members which later inspired this thread. I'm sure if a MOD has an issue they will not have any difficulty continuing their role here and discussing it with the thread originator.

I haven't made an attempt to discredit any members, just the false information being posted. I still haven't heard a response to why conspiracy theories and overtly political propaganda is pertinent to this forum. I'm not looking for an argument because I think we are all on this forum for basically the same reason to help us live happy, sober, healthy, lives. And I will say that I do find some of the political propaganda offensive. I didn't comment on it when I first read it, but as the thread grew and the Zionist conspiracy theory came, then the complete BS written by the Natalie chick I felt the need to comment because it was false and because it offended me. I didn't attack RC, but I hoped she would get the message from my post that this probably isn't appropriate material for this forum, (in my opinion). She didn't seem to care and continued to post more controversial subject matter. I feel that she is the person that was looking to embarass or discredit me by continuing to post new links. Now I am a big boy, and none of these things hurt my feelings, and I love a good debate, but I'm not sure what purpose it serves. Material that was untrue and that is offensive to some was posted, and I just used information off the internet to prove it to be unfounded propaganda in hopes that the poster would stop. Instead she decided to post more and you want to defend that...what else is there to be said? I'm not sure why you care what I post being that when you see things "that actually offend you, you wisely avoid them."

I concur, and I will take my own advice and give this thread a break and let RC do as she sees fit.
I get bored quickly of tedium and it's just pointless debating the merits of another persons thread.
you seem like an intelligent person and who knows you may even be interesting too
I'll catch you elsewhere to discuss whatever sounds good.
RC, you wield the reigns...use it wisely

peace and happy recovery to you all
