    aromatherapy

Does anyone use aromatherapy? I was thinking of getting one of those diffusers as a gift to myself. I'm interested in things to help me relax, feel less anxious, and to calm myself before sleep, but I think it would be fun to explore other uses as well.

If anyone has any experiences they would like to share, or recommendations for diffusers, books, web sites, that would be great.

This is an excellent site for essential oil info. I personally love sandalwood and lavender for relaxing. Jasmine and rose absolutes are intoxicating! Enjoy!

Hi Pixie...I am an aromatherapy nut! I not only use it for myself but for my horses as well. The link that RC posted is great...check it out! There is also a show that I watch on channel "Veria" and it is called "Everyone Nose". Everything you need from household products to facial cleansers...all aromatherapy...are covered here and they show you step by step how to make them! Good luck and keep me posted!

Hi RC....how are you doing...I haven't "spoken" to you in ages! Hope all is well!!!!

I love Bath and Body Works aromatic plug ins. My favorites are Creamy Nutmeg and Leaves. They smell so great and change the entire feeling of a room. Best to get them when they are on sale, so I visit the stores every so often. They also have good smelling lotions, candles, etc. A great smelling candle is Japanese Blossom. Scent changes the mood, enhances good feelings.

Lavender has always been a staple. This summer I learned about lemon oil. When I couldn't sleep during my first 2-3 months of going AF. I read the toolbox here at MWO pg #17 & found this. " Pure Essential Oils and Aromatherapy | Gritman Essential Oils"

              :thanks: Greenie

Well ~ I suppose you all know I LOVE lavender :H
I have a ton of it growing under my bedroom windows
I use lavender in diffusers, in the shower, lotions.....anything lavender!
I also grew a ton of lemon balm this summer which makes a great relaxing tea, especially when you add chamomille. The possibilities are endless!

Yes, :thanks: RC. As I think she knows more benefits about all these neat oils than I do. I remember a ways back talking to her about something of this nature. Both sites are cool! The link on the toolbox go's straight to a pg that talks about alcohol abuse, lemon oil & I think some other healing oil for this specific purpose.

I have lavender growing & if I can find room, maybe next yr I will try some lemon balm. I recently bought Bulgarian Lavender hand & body lotion from Desert Essence Organics from I-herb. I really like it! It was inexpensive. But, I read Skendall may know of a better place to buy products at discounted prices.

Wildflowers - if you are going to plant lemon balm be aware that it grows BIG :H
I have mine in my herb garden by the door & it would have taken over if I hadn't divided it to share with others & cut it back frequently
