Types of Exercise
I am in the gym @ 7am 3 times a week - weights !
Love that I can now lift a heavier weight than some of the men:goodjob:
Can't say as I can see a measurable difference.
The 2 pieces of chocolate bikkie cake I've just eaten won't help.

For me it's about being outside in the fresh air, under our big blue sky. The more I move the better my mind and body feels.AF Since July 27, 2012:jumpin:

Immeasureable, incalculable benefits of excercise! It has been a huge part of my quit. I do lots of different stuff, but the point for me is to do something every single day, even if it is small."When you have faults, do not fear to abandon them." Analects of Confucius

But also absolutely agree with Betty and walking... sometimes just to walk for a while, around the local neighbourhood, or drive to a hill close by, or somewhere else... and yes, it is a kind of meditation. Very calming.

Types of Exercise
I think RC and others makes a good point....while it is important to get moving - it doesn't always have to be something that "feels" like exercise. :-)
I know if I had started an exercise "routine" early on, it might have been something that just added to the stress of going AF. I felt so strongly that I had let things go....my house, family, myself - and yes, it was important for me to "start" to take care of all of them, but if I had started spring cleaning, major reorganization, planned a garage sale, made lists for meal planning, calendars for family activities, started meditating, PLUS starting a dedicated "workout" routine - All the things that popped into my head that maybe I "should" do.... - I would have crashed and burned.
I really had to kind of fly by the seat of my pants for awhile...and at times I thought I was losing my mind - as I felt obsessed with certain things....like organizing or something...but I just went with it and I did keep moving through it - I walked my dogs - I did treadmill workouts when I felt like it...but if I didn't - I didn't let myself feel like a failure. Finally at a year in - I feel capable and strong and have started up a "routine" again - I now feel healthy and strong enough and ready to dedicate a certain amount of time for so many days per week...If I had started earlier, it would have just felt like work and stress....now it feels really good. :-)~
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
